It’s been only a few years since the supernatural community was ousted. The increased presence of phone cameras and CCTV in the modern day and age made it harder to hide mystical phenomena. While there does exist spells and innate abilities that allowed members of the supernatural community to tilt the scales of disbelief in their favor, the simple truth is that it was always a bad idea to rely on people’s ability to “leave no trace” so to speak.

When the world found out, many rushed to hide what they were, some tried unsuccessfully to cover it up and convince the mortal masses that it was all a hoax, and a daring few stepped into the light using the opportunity to gain wealth, status, or fame.

Regulatory bodies in every country of the world were put on the spot with everyone demanding some form of regulation. And while the politicians all bickered, the world explored the uses of magic.
