Maggie's punk friend who Tanya bullied

The teens come back upstairs and find Tanya looking like she was caught with her hand in the cookie jar. She can't help but blush and hopes they don't notice that her hand is slick with her juices. "What's wrong with me?" Tanya thinks to herself realizing she's been hornier the last couple days than she has been since she understood what it meant to be turned on.

Tanya doesn't recognize Jesika from school. Unlike Maggie, who heavily leans toward the black, emo aesthetic, Jesika is decked out in more of punk rock meets ModCloth style. She sports a red, black, and yellow checkered skirt, a retro Descendents t-shirt, two wrists of gel bracelets and leather strips, closely knitted fishnets, doc martins, and a blue dyed pixie cut. She doesn't waste any time noticing Tanya. "Wait!" Jesika says as she climbs into the attic bedroom. "You didn't tell me this new friend of yours is Tanya fucking Wegner."

Maggie climbs into the room, too. "Oh, did I leave that part out? Um, yeah, so Tanya, Jesika, Jesika, Tanya but you apparently know each other?"

Tanya speaks up slightly stunned by the welcome. "I, uh, no, I don't know, uh, her."

Jesika spits on the floor.

"Jes," Kyle says as he joins the trio in the bedroom, "please don't spit on my floor." And grabs a tissue to clean it up.

"Sorry," Jesika says before explaining herself, "I was trying to make a point. Yeah, you know me, bitch! And that spit is all I think about you."

Maggie steps in front of Jesika with her hands raised. "Come on, Jesika, cool it down. You're mistaken about Tanya."

"I'm mistaken? I'm mistaken? No way, Maggie. Tanya and her cunt friends spent all summer harassing me at the pretzel stand."

Suddenly it clicked. Jesika was the girl at the pretzel stand in the mall who they all would make fun of because she looked like a boy. Tanya started laughing. "Oh yeah! You're Sissy Jesse! Remember when Whitney slipped her underwear off and threw them over the counter so you could know what it was like to smell like a real woman?" Tanya raises an eyebrow, "Sorry, I didn't remember you, you're just so forgettable."

Jesika scowls and turns bright red. Her lower lip trembles and her eyes tear up.

Maggie places her hands on Jesika's shoulders. "Jes, just wait. Calm down. Give Kyle and me a minute with Tanya, okay?"

"Why would you invite HER here?"

"Just, one sec, seriously, it's okay. Go sit over there for a minute while I talk to Tanya." She looks at Kyle. "I told you we should have prepared Tanya before inviting Jesika over. What were you thinking?"

"Sorry, I forgot her default is to be an awful person."

Tanya stands up. "Look, I like you two, but I AM NOT hanging out with her. Call me when she's gone."

"STOP IT!" Maggie yells at Tanya and Tanya stops talking. "You won't be hurtful to Jesika anymore. She's your friend now, too."

"She is not!" Jesika interjects.

For a second Tanya feels like Jesika's friend but the feeling goes away super quick. That was weird.

"Jesika, be quiet," Maggie says. Jesika just sighs and rolls her eyes.

"Tanya, you're going to be good friends with Jesika. You're going to be more tolerant and accepting of people who present differently than their birth gender. If Jesika wants to wear a dress, cool, if she wants to wear a sharp three-piece tux, awesome. You're cool with everyone no matter how they dress or cut their hair. Okay. In fact, you want to encourage, help and stand up for her."

Tanya suddenly feels more accepting of Jesika. "Yeah, of course, I don't see any problem with Jesika. I'll definitely make sure other people respect her choices, too."

Jesika looks at Kyle, "wait, are you all fucking with me? Is this some sort of joke?"

Kyle shakes his head. "No, uh, we've found that Tanya can be openminded if we clearly explain things to her. Right, Tanya? You want to be openminded."

"Yes, I want to be openminded."

"Good," Maggie says, "Now tell Jesika you're sorry for everything mean and terrible you or your friends have said or done to her."

Tanya doesn't hesitate. she begins listing off and apologizing for all of the mean things her clique did to the poor pretzel stand vendor this summer. Kyle and Maggie are actually slightly horrified by some of the things Tanya and her friends did. "Wow," Kyle whispers to Maggie, "she's worse than I thought." Jesika starts sobbing harder as each apology rolls off Tanya's tongue.

Maggie leans in and whispers to Tanya. "Now ask if you can give her a hug and promise to never be terrible to her again."

Tanya walks over to Jesika who flinches at her approach. "I'm sorry. I promise I'll never be terrible to you again. Can I hug you?"

Jesika looks up through her tears. "Seriously? Do you mean it? This isn't another prank?"

Tanya crosses her heart. "I swear on my friendship with Maggie and Kyle. I want to be your friend, too."

"Okay, I guess," Jesika says and Tanya goes in for a solid hug. She holds the girl who continues to cry on her shoulder. After a few seconds, Jesika returns the hug.

Kyle, tactlessly, proclaims, "Great! Now that all wounds are healed we can start planning for Anime Cosplay Con. As we all know we're only a week out so our group costume can't be super complicated."

Maggie decides to roll with Kyle's rush to get things moving even as Tanya and Jesika keep hugging. "Right, right, and Tanya, I know you're new to anime so I don't expect you to have any ideas, so..."

Tanya breaks her embrace with Jesika and her face lights up, "actually, I have an amazing group costume idea!"

"You have a..." Maggie pauses and raises an eyebrow. As far as she knew Tanya had never watched anime, "anime group costume idea? You know Disney doesn't count, right?"

Tanya makes a bitchy tsking sound with her tongue. "Ugh, I know that, Maggie. Now that there are four of us we can go as the staff of 'Comic Cafe Freedom!!'"

Kyle facepalms realizing exactly what Tanya's suggesting. Maggie and Jesika, who both consider themselves well-schooled in anime, don't get the reference.

Maggie puts her hands up confused, "I don't know that reference, T."

Kyle tries to jump in before Tanya can reveal that he quietly added the hentai command. "Jesika, what do you want to do?"

The punk girl wipes snot on her sleeve and shrugs, "I guess I'm open to whatever Tanya wants to suggest. I didn't know she was into anime so that's kinda cool we have something in common. Tell us more."

Tanya practically squeals. "Oh my gosh! Kyle could be Keiichi, Mags would make an adorable Kururu, Jesika could be a fun Otona, and I'd want to be Rei!"

Kyle has to sit down as he suddenly starts envisioning his best friends as characters in the hentai. Maggie simply looks confused. "This must be a deep cut because I still don't know what you're talking about." Jesika simply turns red and says "oh, wait."

"Mankitsu Happening!" Tanya exclaims. "Everyone's seen it, right? I watched it yesterday and I'm sort of obsessed."

Kyle buries his face in his hands. Maggie says, "I still don't know it." Jesika does, "it's...it's hentai. She wants us to cosplay hentai."

Tanya smiles at Jesika. "You've watched it?"

"Maybe. A little. A long time ago. I mean, it's not really the type of hentai I usually watch."

"It's not just any hentai!" Tanya continues. "It's one of Kyle's favorites, too! And the costumes would be super easy. Maggie, it's so good. You have to see it. Kyle, can we show it to her?"

Maggie slowly turns toward Kyle. Her face is filled with disapproval. "Yes, Kyle, why don't you show me what you didn't tell me you were recommending to Tanya behind my back."

"You, you were out of the room and I got carried away," Kyle says as he pulls up an episode of the cartoon on his computer. Jesika's incredibly confused by the conversation and also embarrassed.

"Are we really going to all watch hentai together?" Jesika asks.

Maggie crosses her arms. "Of course, I need to see what Tanya suddenly thinks is the best anime ever, RIGHT KYLE?"

Kyle sighs and presses play. And they watch. Kyle's uncomfortable as if a big secret is being shown in front of a class. Jesika's simply confused because what is even going on with this popular girl and bully? Maggie's a mixture of angry at Kyle but also intrigued by this turn of events. They watch the entire episode. "Yeah, I'm going to say probably not," Maggie declares.

Everyone for a Mankitsu Happening group cosplay where we each take a role based on what Tanya suggested, raise your hand."
