Made an Example of

Raven woke up with sore arms and she slowly came too and realized she was gagged, naked again, and her arms were bound on some sort of cross. There was something on her head.

"Our scarecrow is awake, Maud."

Raven looked up and saw the farmer taking photos of her with a cell phone. Apparently his wife had lied. She struggled to free herself.

"I hope that hat don't have fleas," said Maud. It was in the cat's bed in the barn for a while. She laughed.

Raven did not know if it was fleas or just the thought of them, but her scalp started to itch, and she could swear she felt fleas crawling on her scalp. "Mmmmm!"

"How long should this city girl's lesson be, Pa?" asked Maud.

"Hmmmm." The man kept taking photos.

"Oh, he has a cell phone," said Maud.
