Mackenzie plays nurse

"Hey, I'm back!"

Mackenzie made her way downstairs carefully with the lantern, quickly making her way to the kitchen and Alex. The storm outside continued to rage, wind blowing audibly through the trees near the house, while the inside of the house remained dark aside from the brief flashes of lightning outside.

"Cool, welcome back, sorry if I have to ask you to make your own drinks..."

Mackenzie giggled a bit more than she otherwise might have, still exhilarated from everything that had happened, bringing the lantern and first aid kit to the pantry where Alex had propped himself against the wall waiting. As Mackenzie brought the lantern around the corner, Alex looked her up and down and smirked a bit.

"Nice clothes, but they looked better on my bedroom floor..."

Alex teased Mackenzie in an amused tone, a blush on his own face, before grimacing slightly as he tried to move his foot. Mackenzie, looking down at herself, giggled and blushed, seeing a bit of humor for the first time today.

"...Shut up..."

Looking at Alex's foot, she cooed softly in sympathy, kneeling by Alex and opening the first aid kit, quickly finding a medical wrap as she handed the lantern to Alex. The ankle was red and swollen, but with no evidence of a broken bone.

"It looks painful... Do you want to go to the hospital? I'll drive you or something... Or I'll help you get this wrapped and some ice?"

Alex shook his head, annoyed enough that she saw him hurting. He sure wasn't going to the hospital over something like this.

"No thanks, Mackenzie. If it's really bad in the morning, I'll drive myself."

Mackenzie pouted a bit, putting her hand on her hip and shaking her head.

"You will not. I'm going to stay here and take care of you all night. And I'll drive you in the morning if you need it... Um... If that's okay?"

Mackenzie looked down, blushing as she invited herself over the night, her eyes catching Alex nodding quietly. He must have thought she was such a dork... Or that she was throwing herself at him... Feeling heat rushing up her neck and face, she chuckled awkwardly, and kneeled down in front of Alex with the wrap.

"Just keep the light on me, and I'll take care of it. Nurse Mackenzie is starting her shift. Just don't ask for a sponge bath..."

Mackenzie awkwardly joked as she turned her attention to Alex's foot. He held the lantern up as she leaned forward, heat rising in his own face as she lifted his foot, her attention distracted from her top. As she leaned down to wrap underneath his ankle, her oversized shirts shifted and hung open somewhat, showing Alex the start of her collarbones, the top of her chest, and a view of the top half of her breasts, her areolas perhaps peeking at the shadows where the edge of her shirts covered. Mackenzie, for her part, didn't notice, thinking the flannel shirt was enough to cover her, and while Alex felt kind of guilty, he'd never forgive himself if he ruined the moment...
