MR Day 5 - Suggest a restaurant

Michelle has to buy all kinds of supplies to help with her work in the coming weeks, and having you there to help makes it go faster. She is serious about her work, and very focused... it's not a very romantic way to spend a day, but it's enough work that by evening she is ready for a break.

"How about that place?" you ask, pointing across the street at a nice restaurant.

"Anything's fine," Michelle says. She is exhausted, even though you did most of the carrying... Her car is full of stuff you bought.

You go in the restaurant and order, and Michelle doesn't think twice about ordering a glass of wine. Something seems to be bothering her. She admits that she's upset about what that producer did to you, but you are not worried about it.

She goes on to complain about the producers and about how they don't care about soccer, only about drama and stuff... you let her vent, and she drinks more wine. Soon she is very buzzed... but still stressing over what is coming. She is not your coach anymore, but she is still thinking like your coach.

"The key to winning these games," she tells you, very drunk while the waiter pours her another glass, "...will be identifying the strengths and weaknesses of your team and the other team, and knowing how they will interact with each other. The thing that makes this FUTA thing different from real soccer is that you know most if not all of the players, Riley. You know them personally, so you can take their stats AND their disposition into account. This is how you win. You and your coach..." she hiccups. "Have to be a team. For every game you have to have a plan, and you can't just think about your opponents. You have to think about your people."

You smile and nod.

"Don't get cocky because you have Lara," she tells you loudly, spilling wine.

"Why not? She's really good."

"She can leave at any time," Michelle says.

Hmm... good point. Then your new coach would have to sub for her, and you haven't met your new coach yet. You don't even remember her name... Tiff?

It's getting late when you finish dinner. You help Michelle out of the restaurant.

"You can't drive," you tell her. "We should stay overnight."

She's not as drunk as she seems... she sees through you.

"You can drive," she says.

"Oh..." You think fast. "But there's too much stuff in the car. I can't see out the back. It's not safe. You should just drive in the morning."

"Oh my God," she groans. "You are ridiculous."

"There's a nice hotel right there," you say.

She looks at it.

"It does look nice," she says. "I do want a bath."
