MJ confronted

MJ had been home for a day or two, recovering from her escapade with Nick Katzenberg. She cleaned her apartment up and stayed inside, taking the peace and quiet for as long as she could get it.

After a good morning at home, Mary Jane wanted to see the sun and be outside. She decided to go get a coffee from her favorite local java house. She sat by the window and relaxed for a bit. She needed to clear her head.

Katzenberg had those contracts for her, supposedly, and she was just waiting to discuss that with Peter before she decided to sign.

*Would Peter have an issue with me modeling again? Would the issue be Katzenberg? What would I do if it's either of those things? How can I be happy and have a husband who isn't? Although... How can Pete be so happy when right now...I'm not*

Without warning Mary Jane was interrupted from her deep thoughts as she was tapped on the shoulder. Turning around to see who it was, she heard their familiar voices.

"Emmmm Jayyyyy?" One of the girly voices asked.

"Oh my god... Mary Jane!" The other girly voice chirped up.

Mary Jane responded immediately, "Oh my god... Betty... Liz!"

It was Betty Brant and Liz Allen, both of them old friends of both Peter and Mary Jane.

MJ got out of her seat to hug both of them.

"It's so nice to see you both. Come on... sit... sit," MJ said as she opened the table up offering the two other chairs.

Liz and Betty grabbed their own latte and cappuccino, placing them on the table and sitting in the offered chairs.

"Oh my god... how long has it been you two?" Asked MJ.

"Too long... too long Mary Jane... God, you look amazing!" said Liz.

"Yeah... it's like we're showing our age, and you just keep getting hotter. What's your secret MJ? Are you a mutant or something like those X people?" laughed Betty.

Mary Jane just smiled, "No... no... You guys look amazing as well.... So... tell me what have you two been up to?"

"Well.... we both were able to drop our kids off at daycare... and found a minute in our day to take a break," said Betty.

Liz spoke up, "Yeah... little Normie is growing like a weed... just getting into trouble left and right."

"Don't you know it... Winston is the same. The minute you lose sight of him.... your house is on fire."

They all laughed.

"Hahaha... they get it from their fathers, I'm sure, " Liz said chuckling.

"So, MJ... When are you and Peter going to get a little Peter to play with?' Betty asked Mary Jane.

"Well.... we've talked about it... but, the timing just hasn't been right, you know?"

"MJ... the timing is never right," Liz added. "Speaking of Peter... where is that guy?"

"Yeah.... We haven't seen him down at the Bugle in the past couple of days," chimed in Betty.

"Well.... He's been out.... Doing some freelance work for some company... not sure who though... I imagine he'll be back soon," MJ responded.

"Good thing he's been away, eh MJ?" Liz said as she slunk closer to the table to whisper, "Better he doesn't see those pics that came up a couple days ago.."

Betty closed in to whisper as well, "I know.... Mary Jane.... What happened? Those pictures were so.... salacious... and with Katzenberg too... god."

Mary Jane felt like she was being attacked, "Well... they weren't that bad."

"Mary Jane.... you were practically naked," Liz stated.

MJ just laughed, "Well... did I look good?"

They both just stared at her.

"MJ... we just want to help... Is there something going on that you need us for? Do you need money? Are you in trouble? Are you and Peter arguing?" Betty said as she held onto Mary Jane's with both hands.

"Look.... I don't need your charity... or your money... and I definitely don't need your pity or scorn," MJ said as her voice started to get louder.

MJ pulled her hands away from Betty's, "... and as far as Nick Katzenberg and I are concerned... that's none of your business. It was a business meeting... and he has lined up several fashion magazines for me to be in.... I'm doing great... Pete and I are.... doing ... great," she said defensively.

"Look, I have to go.... I have.... some business I need to get to," Mary Jane said as she quickly got up and walked away, "It was great seeing you guys again."

Liz Allen and Betty Brant just stared at each other at the coffee table.

"I always knew she was bad for Peter," said Liz.

"Agreed," Betty responded.

"He should've just stayed with me," Liz followed up.

Betty retorted, "With you? *pshaw* He should've stayed with me."

As those two argued in the coffee shop about past relationships, MJ strode down the street trying to get as much space between herself and those women.

"How dare they judge me?! They have no idea what it's like being married to Peter. He's never there for me. When he is... I'm unsatisfied... Not to mention talk of a family is out of the question..."

"At least Nicky takes care of me, takes my career serious," she said.

*And he can definitely satisfy me* She thought.

With that said, she called up Katzenberg.

"Nicky baby... I want another photo shoot... something glamorous... you know? for Vogue or Cosmo..."
