Set in the modern day, this comic follows the adventures of 16-year-old Margot Webster (who in this iteration is mixed race, Sino-Caucasian, her dad being from America and her mother being from Hong Kong) daughter of William Webster aka the Great Presto - a world-famous stage magician - who has been Margot's sole parental figure ever since Mei - her mom - ran off on them a couple days after Margot was born. Turns out the Great Presto fell for one of the oldest tricks in the book - green card via honey trapping followed by disappearing without a trace!

All her life, Margot has wanted to follow in her dad's footsteps of becoming a stage magician as the Websters come from a long line of talented illusionists going all the way back to the late 1800s - all of whom have been men but she would make history as the first female Great Presto!

Fate, however, has other plans for the young prodigy when on her Sweet Sixteen, something causes Margot's D-Gene to activate, granting her the ability to use actual magick! which she uses to become a superhero crime fighter & defender against supernatural evil under the name of MARGOT THE MAGICIAN!
