Lunch with Dominic

You show up to the dining hall alone, stewing in your thoughts. Helen’s reaction to you was… probably fair, given the circumstances. You think about how you’d react if you found that Helen and Mal were competing to sleep with a bunch of guys, and somehow they both had brothers and Helen would get to fuck Mal’s brother if she won and… you frown. Okay, maybe this analogy wasn’t the best.

You absent-mindedly heap food onto your plate and make your way over to the dining area, finding an empty table. You spend a couple minutes eating the food. It tastes pretty bland. You look up and you see Dominic heading your way, carrying a plate. He points at your table, questioningly, and you wave him over, inviting him to sit.

“Hey, Alex,” he asks, a boyish grin crossing his face. “Is the news true? Was that really the bet?”

“What’s up, Dom,” you smile. It’s good to have a familiar face around, especially one that you can be more frank with. “What you heard was probably right, but I didn’t take up the bet. I thought it was… crass.”

“As your RA, I formally have to say that I approve of that decision. It’s an absolute nightmare dealing with all you horny mofos this year,” Dominic says. “But as a friend? That sounded like a damn fun bet until I got to the part about your sisters. You’ve got to draw the line somewhere. You made the smart move.”

“That was definitely the line for me,” you agree. “But honestly? I don’t even know if I’d have gone for it if our sisters weren’t involved.”

“Yeah? Why not?” he asks.

“There are some girls that I’m into,” you say, “Like, girls that I’ve been thinking about getting more serious about. The way I see it, it’s fine to date around a bit and explore my options. But outright trying to fuck as many women as possible? That’s not going to help.”

“Alright, I see where you’re coming from,” Dom says. He gives you a good-natured nudge on the shoulder. “So, who’s the lucky girl? Or is it… girls?”

“Oh, you know, some girls around campus,” you say casually.

Dom laughs throatily. “Come on, you can trust me,” he says. “Swear it’ll stay a secret with me.”

You told Janet that you’d tell Dominic but… this really doesn’t seem like the right time or place to do it. No, definitely not now, when you’re talking about girls that you want to get with. “I’m sure you can guess already. {if Tatiana > 80} “Whoa, going for the other RA?” Dominic laughs. “Do I have to watch out? Are you going to come for me next?”

“You might have to watch out,” you laugh.

Dominic shakes his head and takes another bite of his food. {endif}

“Well, you’ve got good taste. That’s all I can say. But don’t stress too much about committing now. You’re still young. You’ve got time to have some fun. Not like me. I’m an old and whipped geezer,” he laughs.

“I’ll be sure to keep that in mind,” you say. “Thanks for the advice. Your age always gives you so much wisdom. Please, dispense more wisdom, oh wise one.”

“Oh, shut up,” he laughs. “One way or another, things will work out for you. You’re that kind of guy, y’know?”
