Lunch Revelations
Today I was sitting between Grant and Colin. Across from me were none other than Emma, Sarah, and Lily—a girl until now I barely remembered. We were chatting happily, and by we, I mean mostly them. I followed along well enough, laughing at Colin’s stupid jokes or Sarah’s story about how Emma had set her hair on fire the first time she had slept over freshmen year. Overall, I was having a blast. Lunch was certainly keeping my social meter filled. It reminded me I needed to talk to Emma about maybe introducing Mike to the group.
Watching Emma laughing and having fun was always a treat. It was even better when she would catch me watching her and smile. It tickled at something in me seeing that smile and remembering the picture she sent me last night.
Friday had been another competition and another loss. I swear, it was rigged against me. How the hell was, ‘who can bench the most weight’ even competitive? Of course, Grant won that ‘contest’ being the bulky man he was. He promptly picked Emma and whisked her off to do unmentionables, barely even giving her time to say goodbye. Later that night, I discovered my favorite picture had been of her and Grant together. Mr. Horse Cock who took the picture with his junk almost reaching her belly button with his cum all over her belly? That was him.
This size wasn’t the only thing I learned about him. He was a man who enjoyed fucking, because he did it a lot. It was Thursday and I had gotten a picture or video clip every single day this week from Emma.
“Know who you are going for tomorrow?” Lily’s question pulled me back to the conversation. My daydreaming had cost me the beginning part of the conversation.
“No idea,” Colin said.
“Emma,” Grant answered at the same time. I wasn’t the only surprised look focused at the big man. “What?”
“Dude, give the poor girl a break! Everyone here knows what you’re packing.”
“I don’t mind,” Emma said, pointedly looking at me as she grinned.
“Yeah, Grant,” Lily said, puffing out her cheeks. It seemed to me like she was hoping he would be more interested in her than the others. “What’s the sudden obsession with Emma? You two barely hooked up before.”
Grant had always been a little intimidating. Hard not to be considering he was multiple weight classes above me. Seeing him blush like a schoolgirl caught confessing to her crush? Fucking priceless.
Less priceless was him giving me a look I couldn’t place.
He sighed. “No judgment?”
“You know we are totally going to judge you,” Sarah said with a joking laugh. “Now spill it!”
“Because she’s dating Isaac now.” Everyone stared and he slowly turned red. “What? It’s fucking hot banging some other dude’s girlfriend.” He looked to me. “Thanks for being chill about that.”
“Uh… sure?” Not sure I was prepared for that. The others at the table were laughing. All but Colin.
“I knew it! That’s why you kept picking Holly when I was dating her. She broke up with me because of that!”
“She did not,” Lily said.
“Yes she did! First thing she did when she broke up with me was ask him out.”
“I turned her down.”
“Why? Because she wasn’t dating me anymore?” Grant grinned. “Asshole.”
For a moment, I was worried Colin was going to take a swing at Grant but my worries were laid to rest when he started laughing. “I really need to stop letting my girlfriends join the Prize Pool.”
“Maybe girls are only dating you to get access to other, more attractive guys,” Lily teased, causing some laughter from the girls.
Grant looked over me and patted my shoulder with his meaty hand. “Sorry for hogging your girl. The whole ‘claim’ stuff is just for fun. You always have the priority, so if you need me to back off or anything, let me know.”
I waved him off, struggling with my embarrassment. “Don’t worry about it. Emma and I aren’t like that.” I suddenly found everyone staring at me. Wait. What did I say? Emma’s smile was gone and her stare had a hard edge to it.
“What he means is—”
Grant waved Emma’s attempt off. “What do you mean?”
“Huh?” I asked, mind-wheeling. Where was all this intensity coming from?
“When you say, “Emma and I aren’t like that,’ what do you mean? Aren’t like…what?” Sarah fought off Emma’s attempt to get the attention to herself, her attention never leaving me.
“Uh… we…” I looked over to Emma who was shaking her head no. “Aren’t… like…that?”
Silence. Were the other people looking at us? God, I felt like I was going to wilt away with so much attention on me. It was fine when everyone was having a blast and conversation was flowing, but it was still a challenge when I had everyone’s attention.
“Isaac.” Sarah had a serious expression, her hands neatly folded on the table. “Are you still a virgin?”
“That’s rude to ask,” Emma said suddenly. “Of course he—”
“Yeah.”
Emma winced.
“Emma!” Sarah’s head whipped around to look at her friend. “Seriously?”
“What?” she asked defensively.
“You mean to tell me you’ve been playing around for two weeks with Colin and Grant without even once spending a night with your boyfriend?” She smacked Emma’s arm. “What is wrong with you?”
“Really. It’s—”
“Shit man. I had no idea,” Colin said, rubbing the back of his head. “I mean, I knew you guys were dating, but I figured you two… before… you know?”
This was snowballing out of control. Sarah was berating Emma for being a ‘poor girlfriend’ and I was subjected to Colin and Grant apologizing. This was so much worse than anything Emma could do.
“Stop!” I said a bit louder than I would have liked. Well, I had their attention. More than them too as I felt the weight of many eyes on me. “It’s fine.”
“Isaac—” Sarah started.
“Seriously. I just want to be a part of the group. I know you say The Game and the Prize Pool is a bit of extra fun you guys have, but I want to be a part of that too. I see how you all want to win and the competitive fun you guys have and I have that same desire. I want to stroll up after beating all your asses in something and get to pick.” I looked around at the others. “I told Ryan at the beginning that I was okay with Emma still being a part of the Prize Pool knowing full well what that would mean.”
“Still…”
I managed a grin. It was hard holding it under all the pressure I was feeling. “I’m the Picture Guy, remember? It’s fine. Emma and I have our own thing. I’m happy. She’s happy… No judgment?” God, I didn’t even know what I was saying anymore. I just wanted things to go back to normal.
The several seconds of silence felt like years.
Colin chuckled, blessedly bringing the attention to him. “Hear that, Grant? You get to bang another dude’s girlfriend a bit longer you sick fuck.”
His joke broke the tension in the air. Most importantly, it directed attention back to Grant who seemed much better at weathering the attention. I was exhausted.
Someone kicked my shin. Looking up, I found Emma giving me a pointed look. It softened. ‘You okay?’ she mouthed.
I nodded and she gave me a smile.
I suppose my secret was out now. Everyone knew Emma and I were sexless. For now. I had to remember that. Everyone went at their own pace. Emma and I had only started dating and were still feeling things out. I had told her I would wait, and that’s what I would do. When she felt it was time to talk about it, we would. For now, things were fine as they were.
For now.
