Lucky Dip

"How about, Lucky Dip?" Joseph proposed, looking to his frat brothers eyebrows raised as if it was a real question. They cheered their approval and several of the pledges exchanged concerned looks. "If you would be so kind, Kai." A Beta Psi member with slicked back hair nodded and disappeared at Joseph's request. Casey stole another look at Elliot who wore a frown. Jamie looked more scared than anything. Despite the name, Cass got the distinct feeling that nothing 'lucky' was about to happen to them. Kai returned a moment later carrying a large, antique looking silver bowl. All the guys were slowly crowding in towards the sofas as the bowl was placed on a coffee table in the middle. Casey caught Lucas' eye and could tell, even in his intoxicated state, Lucas was no less worried then him. Kai stood back and Joseph looked at each pledge one by one, his expression unreadable.

"So. We like to start these 'trails' with something for all to enjoy. Though truth be told, it is a little more for the already inducted brothers." He took a step forward, looking down at the bowl. Leaning in, Casey could see it was half filled with pink pills. He didn't know what to make of them. "The Lucky Dip to start us off then? Simple really. In here are a whole bunch of sugar pills. Mixed with some," He paused, a sly, sadistic looking grin growing across his face. "X-Change pills. Each of you will reach in and take one. Some of you may change. Maybe you all will. Perhaps none. But you will all play, if you wish to proceed with you interest in joining Beta Psi. Failure to do so and, well, leave. Leave and keep this to yourself and live a life of painful mediocrity while you imagine what could have been. If you'd just chanced it." Joseph trailed off, pointedly. The pledges were silent for several seconds.

The small voice in the back of Casey's head came screaming back. He'd been right to be doubtful. Been right to be unsure about these guys. They were fucking crazy. X-Change had been big news once. A perfect pill for those with gender identity issues. But it wasn't just a one and done. No, the pill which could perfectly swap a persons gender wouldn't just give one, easy pill for cheap. Money could be made from the curious and perverted. A dozen different variants spun off. Breeder, Bimbo, Xtra Strength or Lite. Some lasted just twenty-four hours, others a life time. Some mostly protected from pregnancy or the user couldn't even become pregnant at all. Others, almost guaranteed it. Cheap knock-offs had been a hot-topic issue for a while. Cass blinked, too shocked to comment. It seemed like many of the others were to. Jamie spoke first. "Are you serious?" His voice was small, but the words clear. He looked around, shaking his head and stepping forward. "You're fucking nuts. You want us to turn into chicks? That why there is none here." Joseph looked at him calmly before gesturing to the door. "We are serious. Think about it as a gendered version of Russian Roulette." The comparison didn't fill Casey will confidence. "And I promise all of you, these are legit Lites. Nothing permanent. Just some fun. To see if you're willing to do whatever it takes." He stared Jamie down. "And if you still don't want in, then leave. No one will judge you. But know there is no other way into Beta Psi. And no, second chances." Jamie gazed at him before turning to the others. "You're all gonna play this dumb fucking game? Risk being a girl for this?"

"Who knows. You might even like it." Dean offered. "Wouldn't be the first." Kai piped up. A small chorus of laughs ran around the room. Casey looked to Lucas who's mouth was a little ajar with shock. No one moved for a moment and then Javier step forward and sat himself down in front of the bowl. He looked up and around, his chest visibly heaving with anxiety. "How many of them are X-Change?" Elliot asked. Casey threw him a surprised look but the other boy refused to meet his gaze. "About 10%." Kai said. "Odds are pretty good if you ask me." Casey was **** to believe anything they said. Yet, it seemed enough for Elliot, He stepped forward and joined Javier on the floor near the bowl. Several more of the pledges did so, not speaking a word. When Lucas moved to join them, Casey reached out. "Lucas, this is nuts man. You wanna risk being a girl-" Lucas interrupted him before he could finish. "For twenty-four hours? A one in ten chance? For Beta Psi? I don't think that's nuts." He sat and gestured for Casey to join him. Cass turned, looking for Jamie but even he was looking conflicted now.

"Come on, Blondie. Rolle the dice. Live a little." Dean gently pushed him forward. So much for him having been nice for five seconds. Exchanging a look with Jamie, the last two boys slowly joined their friends around the bowl.

"Perfect. Who's up first then?" Joseph grinned.
