Looking around the lush garden you don’t immediately, see anyone but the cacophony of screams both male and female is quite loud reminding you of the imminent danger. In the sky you can see whole companies of drake riders swooping down into the streets and estates intent on pillage and ****. Giving Clymene a nudge, the three of you head for the wine storage room while trying to remain unseen by the marauding drake riders coming to the storage room, you and Immestra have to push the sullen Clymene inside just as you hear a loud crash and the exultant cry of a drake echo in the garden outside.

Disappearing into the storage room you breathlessly ask, “We don’t have a lot of time. How do we reveal the door Clymene?”

Clymene looks around the room and points to a brass rod with a resigned shrug, “Take the rod and you shove it into a knot hole in the floor board till you hear a click. Immestra quickly pulls down the rod and starts looking for the knot hole in question, when you hear the drake shriek again as steel strikes steel.

“I found it Amara!” Immestra cries happily.

Immestra shoves the rod into the hole and relief washes over you as the floor next to it raises a couple inches. Immestra's fingers get purchase, and she opens up the trap door when you hear Petroculus scream out “Kill that blasted drake.”

Looking down the hole in the floor you see a ladder going down about six bodylengths into a dank tunnel.

“You first Clymene.” You order your old tormentor.

Gripping the ladder as best she can, Clymene disappears down the hole just as the drake outside shieks in pain followed by large thud as it falls over. Immestra goes down next with her bag and the food.

“That little Helios Bitch must be here, there is twenty gold to the man who finds her!” You hear Petroculus scream out.

Your nerves are almost breaking when Immestra finally clears the hole giving you room to start down. Before you begin the descent you stop for a second and carefully pry the rod from its hole, and toss it down into the darkness. Only then do you finally you grasp the trap door and start to close it, just in time as a soldier appears in the open door way. Too late for your pursuers, you finish closing the door, and the lock engages with a satisfying click and you find yourself in complete and utter blackness.

Relieved, you start down the ladder again when you’re startled by stomping on the trap door. You hold your breath as nothing happens, and then there is silence. Coming to the base of the ladder you collapse onto the floor besides Immestra judging by the shortness of the tunic that covers her thigh. You both sit in silence in the darkness for a long moment before the two of you break into quiet laughter.
