What happens when I get home?
Lucas Wants To Play Games
“Hey, wanna play some Street Fighter 6? I'll let you have Yasmine!” prompts Lucas as he catches me practically as soon as I'm in the door, and I shrug and nod, and we go to his room. He quickly sets it up and we sit on his small couch to play.
I'm not world-class, or anything, but Lucas isn't great, at all. Nine times out of ten, this ends with me making fun of him as I beat him. Today he's playing Luke, which is his favourite character because he can pretend that he's playing as himself.
First round goes to me, 2-0, and he wants to go again. Twice more, I beat him hands-down without anything that remotely resembles difficulty. I snicker at him as he groans with frustration, “You want me to change characters to someone else?”
“No, no, I said you can play as Yasmine, and you can play as Yasmine,” he grumbles, huffing irritably, but he's unwilling to go back on his word, either. I don't think he likes imagining himself getting beaten so severely that he doesn't get a hit in.
“Are you even trying, Lucas?” I tease him, looking over at him and pretending not to look at the screen while I continue, battering down his Luke on the screen until it's another loss, and our fourth run is looking like it's gonna be another 2-0.
“Maybe you just like getting your ass kicked by a girl!” I tease, as the next round starts.
