You look down at yourself and your outfit for the first day of summer vacation. You feel cute. Your makeup is done the way you like it, your hair is in a nice French braided ponytail, and you’re wearing a nice sky blue, aqua short sleeve shirt and skirt that goes down to just a little bit above your knees.

It’s a warm day out, but not overly hot. It’s calm, not very windy. You feel like any other normal day, only today is a bit different. It’s not a school day- it’s the opening day of the Gender Wars.

The girls from previous years have given you some tips. The boys are impatient, they’ll eventually stretch themselves thin. They’re pretty aggressive and they’ll come on strong to try and win early, so just sit back and play defense. They’re boys, they’re going to screw up at some point, let them make the mistake. You’re cute, they’re probably fighting over which one will get to be your boyfriend, let them divide themselves then conquer them later. All pretty reasonable tips you’ve been given.

You’re not overly worried about it though. What could a boy do to you anyways? The boys aren’t allowed to do anything that would cause permanent harm or long term damage to you. They’re not going to cut you or make you bleed out or anything. Then, because Gymnastics is a school program, they aren’t even allowed to prevent you from going to your required Gymnastics events or do anything that would harm your Gymnastics performance physically.

So while the rules may seem pretty small in number, the protections you have even if you do get caught are pretty specific and enough to make you feel comfortable. The worst thing would be the embarrassment of what the boys would make you do for them and the humiliating things they may make you do. Or the disappointment of letting the girls down and giving the boys a win.

You take the time to look around the girls hideout and do a perimeter inspection to make sure everything is secure and the way you want it. After finishing the inspection satisfied, you head down to your leadership room and inform the other 4 girls on your leadership team that you’re going to go for a morning jog, to which they acknowledge your departure before resuming their activities to make sure the base setup is complete.

You turn on your phone music, start your step counter to check your time and distance, and start jogging on the path. It’s pretty empty compared to normal, so you have plenty of space to stay on the main path. Your music gives you good pace, as you start to approach the entrance to the forest.

However, the Forest entrance is blocked by two boys. You look at them confused, before approaching them, turning your music off and pausing your running timer.

“Um… Hi… Why is this entrance blocked?” You ask the two boys, who immediately smirk.

“Are you Emily Moore?” The boy on the left asks.

“Um… Yeah? Why? Do I know you from somewhere?” The two boys smile happily. The boy on your left grabs your left wrist, and the boy on the right grabs your right wrist. You look at them confused. “Um… What’s going on?” You ask.

“You have been captured attempting to enter boy territory during the gender wars. You are being taken back to the boys base to face your punishments.” The boy on the left says. You start to panic.

“Wait, no, this is a mistake! This is the running trail, this isn’t boy- what are you talking about?!” You freak out.

“The forest is considered boy territory during the Gender Wars. Any girl attempting to trespass on boy held territory is trespassing and will be taken to the boys leadership council.” The boy on the right explains.

“Then just let me leave! I’ll go back the other way, you don’t need to do this! This is so stupid!” You complain. The boys chuckle.

“Actually, we do need to do this. We can not simply send you back for an attempt to cross into our land. If the boys had attempted to enter the Beach territory the girls hold, would you simply redirect them away from the beach?” The boy on the left asks.

“Yes! We would! We only capture them if they’re an active threat, not someone mindlessly jogging on a trail path.” You argue back, but they don’t believe you.

“Any girl who attempts to enter private boys territory during the Gender War period is considered an attempt to trespass and that charge is illegal under boy code SR 16 Dash 32 Point 64, and shall be charged upon the girl attempting to enter for any reason without expressed written permission from the leader of the boys.” The boy on the right states.

“Let me freaking go! I wasn’t trying to enter to do anything stupid! I’ll go back and I won’t come back here for the rest of the summer!” You tell them, but it’s too late. They chuckle.

“Sorry Emily but you’re on boy property now, and thus makes you ours for the rest of the summer.” The boy on the right smirks. You groan and try and resist, but two boys against you is a fight you can’t win. You’re tough for a girl, admittedly, but a physical battle of pure muscle strength vs. two of whom are probably the strongest boys on campus is a battle you can’t win.

“If you continue resisting and fighting back we are going to have to handcuff you, Emily. Please don’t make us do that.” The boy on the left says calmly, except for your name, which he seems to put extra emphasis on for some reason.

“You two are so dumb. You should have just told me no girls are allowed and kept me out of the forest and I would have listened.” You say sassily. The two boys chuckle, but don’t respond as they keep on leading you deeper into the forest.

Eventually you get to a massive clearing with a torch in the middle. “CT S16 LEM, UHRLL, WGH:)” the boy on the right says in code letter by letter. Immediately a door opens to the stairwell that leads underground. You’re dragged in by the two boys. There’s a door on the left, a door in the middle, and a door on the right. The door on the right has a sign that says Boys Only, the Middle sign has the letters LDANM above it, and the left door has a sign that says Not Boys in bright pink. The two boys stand behind you as you enter the door on the left, the two boys not following you inside, as the door locks behind you.

Inside is a short hallway that takes you to another door. This time you open the door in front of you, and there’s a boy in the room. You look at him curiously.

“Um… I thought this entrance was only for… Not Boys.” You say somewhat sassily and sarcastically. “And… You’re… A boy.” You point out the obvious. He chuckles.

“I am a boy, but I’m the inspector of girl entrances. I just need to codify your arrival in our record books and ensure I keep the entry secure from any girls who may be bringing in any contraband.” He says. You approach him slowly.

“So… You’re the security guard responsible for inspecting the girls then?” You ask to clarify. He nods.

“Yes, exactly right. My name is Nathan. I just need your fingerprint please.” You look at him surprised and confused.

“My… Fingerprint? Um… What for?” You ask him surprised by the invasion of privacy.

“Security reasons. We need to know your name, birthday, student ID number and summer schedule confirmation found on your student profile in the Cielisium Database.” Nathan says calmly.

“Um… I can tell you all of that without you taking my fingerprint, if you don’t mind.” You respond calmly. He chuckles.

“I’m sure you could, but this gives us complete information for our records and will allow us to confirm who you are, your records, and make sure that all of our information is accurate and up to date. Trust me, Emily, we all already know who you are. We just need it for record keeping in case something happens while you’re here.” Nathan explains.
