Lost in a Strange Neighborhood

(Note: this will basically start off as a written adaptation of the original "Lost in the Hood" John Persons comic story featuring the actual Felicia Monroe character, with a few alterations. After that, I'll start writing my original follow-ups. Credit for the original comics and concept all goes to John Persons and any affiliated artists / writers.)

"You've reached Frank Smallwood. Unfortunately I am unable to come to the phone right now. Please leave a message and contact information after the tone, and I'll get back to you as soon as I can. Thank you."

*Damn it. Reached the answering machine again.* Felicia frustratingly hung up her phone - which was low on battery anyway. She'd just gotten off work and her boyfriend was supposed to pick her up, but he never showed up.

*He's probably held up at work again.* Felicia slid her phone back into her purse and began walking down the narrow sidewalk, hoping to find the nearest bus stop.

Felicia wasn't all that familiar with the neighborhood that bordered the club she bartendered at - she lived on the other side of town and had no reason to explore the neighborhood - only that it was considered a "ghetto" and was mostly made up of African-Americans.

She'd also heard rumors that the neighborhood was controlled by a graffiti gang calling themselves the "Big 3", but didn't really pay them any mind.

Continuing to walk along the narrow sidewalk, Felicia suddenly noticed just how empty the neighborhood seemed.

"Well, hopefully there's a bus stop nearby or something...." Felicia mumbled to herself as she kept walking.
