Lorenzo makes it home

Lorenzo managed to travel back home without any hiccups. Walking in through his front door he was greeted by two suitcases. He hurried to the kitchen and found his mum and dad. He asked them, “ why are there suitcases in the hallway?” He assumed his dad had been honest with his mother and admitted to his affair but was in despair when he received the news that his grandfather was not very well.his mother and father would be travelling to Italy to help his grandmother. Lorenzo didn’t know how to respond, the memory of his fathers indiscretion falling to the back of his mind. His mother told him “your exams are coming up in the next few weeks so your going to stay here and come out to us when your finished.” Lorenzo’s mouth was a gasp. He’d been left home alone before but never for such a long period of time. “Our friends will come by to check on you, just stay out of mischief.” Lorenzo didn’t know how to respond. The rest of his evening seemed to go by slowly, still contemplating the news and making small talk with his parents. As 7pm hit his parents gathered their things and began to leave. As his mother walked out the door she looked back at Lorenzo and said “good luck with your exams and stay out of trouble!” With that his parents were gone.
