Lore Bite: Frenzy

Frenzy

The Term Frenzy, frenzied or Blood Drunk are words popularised early within the many Vampiric clans that litter the dark corners of the world. All Vampires hear the call, it is a hunger beyond Human comprehension and while it can be suppressed it is fact within Metaphysical nature of the Undead.

Some have likened it to a parasite, a screaming subconscious that drives Vampires into insanity upon ignoring it, others say that it is a more magnetic experience, a physical draw between monster and Human. Some old Vampire scholars, proposed that the Link between man and Beast is made real through the Call for blood, that it is merely a Natural response of Predator and Prey.

But irrespective of how the Call is experienced and interpreted, the frankly terrifying consequences of trying to reject it completely is how Frenzy is not such a subject of debate.

Frenzy is the state a Vampire enters after consciously ignoring, neglecting to, or being **** out of their Feeding cycle, less than the minimal pint a month leads the Vampire into a consecutive three stage cycle, those being:

Intermittent

The Vampire will experience nausea, vomiting, trembling, slight confusion and Slight loss of short term memory. The Call doubles in consistency, equivalent to several anxiety attacks and Unintentional violent behaviour, all topped off with the intensified thirst for blood.

Mania

The Vampire will experience Migraines, loss of several voluntary motor functions, Complete loss of Short term memory, Slight loss of Long term memory. The Skin becomes tighter, colder. A Vampires true face, that of their monstrous form becomes nearly impossible to hide. The Call Quadruples in consistency, equivalent to intense Mania, schizophrenic and Bipolar behaviours, long periods of sleep due to lack of energy, higher chance of calcification (Where a Vampire becomes inanimate and produce a stone-like covering that preserves them indefinitely), Full delirium, acute violent tendencies and of course, the Thirst for blood becomes so strong that the call does not ever stop, further pushing the Undead into insanity.

Frenzy

A Pure Frenzy is the final stage in the degenerating cycle, and is by far the most catastrophic that an Undead can reach. In this final Cycle of pure frenzy, the Vampire's capacity for intelligence completely disappeared and they go completely feral, those who have not hardened into a "Red Watcher" unable to remain animate without blood, will experience a slew of very painful lacerations, this is where the flesh atrophies on the bones and the flesh begins to both harden in places, while also rotting and splitting on the bones as the Curse continues to keep the subject alive, running rampant without it's fuel source.

The Blood Drunk Vampire will likely go berserk if uncontained, hunting and killing indiscriminately and with no comprehension of the world around them.

Their Vampire Visage will be on full display at all time, the muscles shrinking and the frame enlarging as they slowly begin to transform. If at this point the Vampire still hasn't calcified they will slowly begin to change, arms lengthening, membranous mutations appearing between the fore arm and rib-cage, the skin will lose it's melanin count, become pale, almost Translucent.... the Subject turns into a Leech, a mindless blood thirsty monster with the capacity to spread and destroy entire cities in Hours.

The Final stage of Frenzy is a point of discussion among most clans, as it is very rare that a Vampire reaches the later stages of Frenzy before being tracked, hunted and disposed of by an Inquisitor of the High court.

However... all Undead are unique in their own way, some are more durable than others, and when one takes pack with the night, there's no knowing what Gifts and Curses it will bring.
