Loots

"Hey Alex, look at this! The Demon dropped something!" Amelia yells out, waving a small stack of cash in the air.

"Huh?" Lily stared at the stack of cash in visible confusion. She was next to Amelia so she saw what happened after Amelia successfully killed the demon.

"How is that possible? Demons are beings of energy and everything inside an Illusionary Barrier, aside from what people bring in, is only illusions. How could they drop money?" Lily ask.

Alex quickly comes to a conclusion after hearing what happened. "Amelia's power is based on a game. In games, there are loots that enemies drop upon being defeated. Amelia's power must have created those "loots" when she killed the demon."

"Creating something from nothing? That shouldn't be possible." Lily says in disbelief.

"Not exactly. If I have to guess, it's similar to my own ability to create items from Idea Power. Amelia's power must have used the energy of the demon to create the loot after killing them." Alex guesses. It might or might not be correct but it's his best guess at the moment.

"Oh, that makes sense." Lily nods.

'Heh,' Alex chuckled in his mind. Just a month back, she thought his ability shouldn't be possible but after seeing it so much, it became something normal for her. Now seeing a similar ability doesn't even phase her at all.

"Come on, let's continue killing the demons. There seem to be more than usual today." Alex tells them. Usually, there are only 5 to 10 demon spawns when he creates a barrier but even after killing half a dozen of them, their spawn rate doesn't seem to be slowing down.

At the rate they're going, he'll run out of energy before they run out of demons.

'I have to change up my strategy.' Alex conclude. He stops pumping mana into his sword and instead enters close combat with the demon. It's a lot more dangerous and slower but it also gives him time to use a breathing exercise. Unlike most high level mage, he can't recover Mana while using us Mana. It's like trying to walk left and right at the same time. At best you'd get nowhere and at worst, you'd hurt yourself.

"Ha!" With a shout, Alex sliced the demon he was fighting apart. A notification pops up saying he got some XP, signifying that the demon is dead.

Alex glace over to see how Amelia was doing. Lily was helping her and they both seem to be fine at the moment so Alex focus on the next demon spawn and got to hacking it apart again.

This continues on for half an hour before he hears Amelia shout excitedly, "I leveled up!"

"Look out!" Lily yelled, quickly summoning a wall of plants to block the demon that was about to hit Amelia before shooting an arrow into its head. The arrow explodes into light, vaporizing the demon.

"Focus on the combat Amelia, you can check your level afterward!" Alex chide.

"Right. Sorry, and thank Lily." Amelia says before the three of them go back to fighting.

"Finally!" Amelia drops on her butt after finishing off what had to be their 50th demon. They're lucky these demons seem to be weaker than usual even if they were numerous, only level 12 to 18 according to Amelia's ability. Sometimes if Alex was unlucky, he would meet demons as strong as he is.

At least they got something out of killing the demons for so long. Amelia's ability to create loot, though only when she deals damage to the demon at least once before it's killed, got them 23,000 dollars, 3 Weak Mana Stone, and 1 Demonic Glove. The glove has the effect of imbuing darkness attribute mana into her attacks. They don't do much against demons but will give her an edge in most fights.

As for the other loots, Alex isn't in need of money right now, especially in such a small amount and Lily needs it even less than him so they left them all to Amelia. They did divide the Mana Stones between the three of them and let Amelia keep the glove too.

"Huh?" Alex starts at the screen in front of him in confusion for a moment. He didn't expect Amelia's ability to level up to affect him too. He starts to wonder just how powerful her ability is to affect the world around her that much.

'If I can level up. Does that mean I have a Status Screen too?' Alex wonders, only for a stat screen to pop up in front of him. This one is less detailed than Amelia's, only showing his name, level, class, and stats.

'Seems about right.' He's been focusing on his agility more than his magic or strength so it makes sense for it to be his highest stat. He thought for sure his agility would be a lot higher than his other stats but they are pretty even.

After thinking for a bit, Alex decides to add the 5 points he got from leveling up into Spirit. His physical abilities can be trained but people's mana containers are a lot harder to increase.

With that done, Alex closes the screen to check out how Lily and Amelia are doing. He pauses and frowns when he what Amelia is doing. she had her status screen up like he was and was assigning points. The problem is, that Alex can see the number representing her stats, and all of them read 25...

"Amelia..." Alex groaned. The girl in question stiffens when she sees that Alex saw her status.

"Y-yes?" She stutter, quickly closing the screen and trying to act normal.

"What were you doing?"

"N-nothing." Amelia answered nervously with an obvious lie.

Instead of saying anything else, Alex just continues to glare at the girl. Amelia tries to look away but grew more and more uncomfortable under Alex's gaze until she finally cracks.

"Ok, fine, I was assigning points to my stats." She relents.

"And why were they all 25 instead of like how we planned?" Alex ask.

"Because... I got a perk for getting 25 in Spirit and wanted to see what perks the other stats give?" She answers questioningly.

Alex facepalm. "If you get stats for reaching a certain number of stats, wouldn't it make more sense to focus on one stat? The higher stat will probably give better perks."

"Oh right." Amelia laughs embarrassed, "I didn't think of that."

"Oh, but it's not all bad. Look, I got this perk when I got all my stats to 25." Amelia tries to defend her decision by showing him the perk she just got.

Increase stats by 15% for every stats that are the same for one minute per day.

"Ok, I got to admit, that's a pretty powerful perk." Alex relents. Amelia puffs up her chest in pride that she won the "argument".

"But that doesn't mean you can just do whatever you fancy in the Abyss. You got lucky this time but who knows about what would happen next time." Alex scold, making her deflate.

He then spends the next half an hour lecturing Amelia on what she shouldn't do in the Abyss, wanting to into it through to her how dangerous the Abyss really is so she won't jump into anything dangerous when he wasn't looking. It wasn't until Lily reminds him that it was getting dark that he stop and took the girl home.

He made an excuse of Amelia helping him with something for her parents so she won't get in trouble for skipping school for the day before heading to the Cleaner's base. He did make sure to stop by his own house to tell his family that he would be staying over at a friend's place that night.

As for why he's planning to spend the night in the base instead of at home, that's because Kyle hadn't come to pick up Lily yet. The Life Foundation base is also too far from the area without cars and Lily doesn't have anything outside of his hoodie to hide the fact that she's an elf so he decides that they should stay at the base instead, much to Lily's delight. Should anything happen, he'll at least be there to help deal with it.

Though, to prevent anything from happening to Amelia while he's away, he gave her the Belt of Magic Concealment. He's good enough to suppress the level of his mana now and have Clara at the base so he's safe there but Amelia doesn't know or have such things.
