You awaken standing on a high bluff overlooking an acacia forest next to a long narrow lake. This planet appears to be one in the process of terraforming, as the grass and trees here are sparse and scattered, with large stretches of bare ground surrounding each clutching patch of living things. Your parachute trails out behind you, tangled among some rocks, and you cut it free with your combat knife. It's of no further use, you can see the rents and tears from here.

You struggle to remember the past several hours and slowly it comes back to you, your mind from our own world and this new one coming together into a fusion greater than either alone. There was some pretty severe high altitude wind on this planet that has scattered the special operations team you left the transport with over the local area, you're going to have to go looking for them to re-assemble the group and get ready for whatever comes next, which surely is going to involve fighting the Bugs, I mean Tyranids, I mean Zerg...

You can see that there are humans on this planet, because there are several small items of human tech nearby, what your new knowledge lets you recognize as a water distribution system commonly used as part of terraforming, and you also see a broken down and rusted ground transport vehicle, reminiscent of a pickup truck.

From where you are the next closest ping is that of one of your squad medics, Miss Chen Meilen, and you realize by looking at the map in your armors HUD that the scattering of your various squadmates probably means you go around picking them up one by one in a preset order, so you start out in search of Miss Chen...
