Look at the sextant pillar.

The pillar is carved with an image of a sextant and what appears to be a sea chart. It depicts an ocean of completely unfamiliar continents or islands. It seems to chronicle a ship disembarking from one land mass and following what appears to be a cloud westward until it reaches another land mass.

Whatever history, myth, or plan's being depicted is completely lost on you.

You stand in the ruins of an ancient temple to mathematics. One pillar has a magnetic compass embedded in it, another pillar is marked with a sextant, and there's a third, much smaller pillar surrounded by a ring of strange markings.
