Long Days End Pt 2

Walt kissed each of the kitchen staff either on the lips or the cheek. "That was fantastic ladies! Thank you!"

They were all happy to hear that. The recipe book was a treasure map to this mans heart and they were grateful for it!

Walt kissed each of the maids too. "Thank you for all you do as well!" And then he kissed Manami who had joined them and specifically waited on him. "And thank you, Manami! You look very good in your maid uniform!"

Manami blushed almost as red as her hair but smiled happily. "D-do you think so? Thank you so much!"

Walt nodded smiling. He was happy to see her happy. "I do! You're both cute and lovely."

Manami made a little fist. "W-would you like some tea? I could make us- I mean, you a pot!"

Walt felt the others eyes on him. *Ah, I see,* he thought. He nodded and took her hand. "That's very sweet Manami. Thank you. But... maybe we could have a relaxing after dinner cup together? Would you like that?"

Manami blushed happily and nodded enthusiasticly! "I would! I'd like that very much! Could you give me a little time to prepare and wait for me in the media room?"

Walt smiled. "Sure! Would you like to watch a movie with me?"

Manami grinned. They were going to have a movie date! "Yes please!"

Yunyun cheered. "Yay! I like movies! What should we watch this time?"

The others laughed nervously as they'd wanted to NOT interrupt Manami's moment but she nodded at them smiling. "It's fine." She'd be less nervous and maybe have to be bold!

Meanwhile Walt blinked. "Uhh... I just noticed. Not that it's not good to see you Yunyun but... what are you doing here? Shouldn't you have gone home?"

Penny spoke up. "There was a slight miscalculation. Is it ok if she stays tonight?"

Walt blinked. *Well shoot... if Jimbo and his girls haven't called it must be ok for her to stay one more night, right?* he thought. He nodded and smiled. "Sure. She can stay. It's gotten pretty late anyway. But first thing tomorrow morning she needs to go home, ok? Friday. See to it please?"

(("Understood, Boss."))

Walt nodded. "Alright then. Movie night. Why don't you ladies pick." He yawned. "Just about anything is fine by me-"

This off-hand statement sparked a rather heated debate amongst some of the girls!

Yang pumped her fist. "We should watch an action blockbuster!"

"Something with a cute love story," Pyrrha suggested trying helpfully keep things on track.

Nora grinned. "And some violence!"

"I'd like to see the rest of that monster movie from before but anything is fine by me," Yunyun said

"I heard they made an adaptation of the first volume of "Ninjas of Love"," Blake suggested and when everyone gave her a look she quickly added. "I think they made a "general audiences" version too..."

Kali snickered. "What is it? A short?"

"How about something creepy?" Raven suggested adding quietly and elbowing Manami, "horror stories are good for cuddling up to."

Mission, Curie and some of the others nodded and suggested Sci-fi.

Merida said something incomprehensible.

Neo Texted. [Manami gets final pick] and everyone else agreed.

Penny nodded as well, "Actually I have an idea..."

Walt had left and gone into the kitchen with the plates. He started cleaning up and felt a hand on his elbow. Manami looked up at him. "You don't have to-"

"I want to," he told her. He reached into the cabinet and pulled out the tea pot. "Shall we?"

Manami smiled and nodded. "Together then!"

He handed her the teapot and consulted the teas. "What do you think we should try?"

"Why don't you pick?" Manami smiled happily. This was even better than serving tea. This was like a couple-

She tripped and was trying to catch her balance but it was no good! She needed to save the teapot! She grabbed it and closed her eyes waiting for the impact... that never came as gentke hands scooped her up.

"Nice catch," Walt told her. "But are you alright? You know you're far more important to me than the teapot, right?"

Manami opened her eyes to his smiling but concerned face. Her hero had come to her rescue again. He was the greatest! Her heart was beating so fast as she was in his arms but... just like before her nerves passed. Together like this she felt anything was possible. "I'm perfectly fine thanks to you."

Walt smiled at her and nodded. She looked so happy... and that made him happy too. He decided not to set her down.

Manami was thrilled. He literally carried her about the kitchen like a princess... but it was more than that! They put the kettle on together, picked out tea together, gathered the cups and saucers together. Sure they were close. Sure he was romantically carrying her around. But they were working together. She understood what Neo was trying to tell her. He was a terrific partner!

Walt found he was having fun chatting away with Manami about various things. Manami reluctantly asked him to set her down when they finished the prep and were waiting for the water to boil but she held his hand and he squeezed hers asking if she wanted to help him continue cleaning up. She smiled and they did assisting the maids and kitchen staff.

Infact it seemed that the others kept assigning them things to do together specifically. He looked and sure enough Kali gave him a thumbs up and Lita winked. He grinned and nodded. He thought about the others too. Shy, lonely Manami... a girl so distraught and with a wounded heart in her world she'd contemplated suicide, had made so many personal connections and friendships here. That made him so happy. It made the others happy too. He could tell.

The kettle began whistling and he quickly whispered into Manami's ear sharing a thought he'd just had. She listened and then nodded beaming! They quickly selected more accouterments they'd need and she pointed out which teas she needed to use. He nodded and gathered them quickly for her then set about his task.

The kitchen tabke wasn't quite as large as the dining room but it would suffice perfectly for their needs. One by one he took Kali, Lifts-Her-Tail, Senko, Roberta, Haruna, Haruhime and Sayoko and seated them. Then he and Manami served them each a cup of their favorite tea.

The ladies were surprised and some even embaressed but very appreciative of the gesture. It was a quiet moment for the hardworking main household staff. A chance to show them the appreciation they all deserved. Finally Walt and Manami joined them.

They all had a pleasant chat time chatting together. Walt nodded to himself. "You know... I have been thinking about this for awhile. But I appreciate all of you and the others that always help out keeping this place running smoothly like Ahnassi and Sasha. If any of you want a day or two off sometime I'd like to make that possible for you. Maybe we could all go somewhere or do something to relax... or... what's so funny?"

Most of the ladies were laughing quietly and those who weren't were smiling.

Sayoko shook her head. "Master is almost too predictably kind."

Senko giggled. "He can't help it. He's a very sweet young man."

Lita laughed. "It's not a hardship Master. But it is sweet of you to offer. It might even be nice someday!"

Roberta bodded but smirked. "Can you imagine the chaos we might return to though? I shudder to think of it!"

Haruna and Haruhimeboth giggled while Kali nodded. "But the idea is good and the offer generous. I greatly enjoyed the day off Walter gave me. You ladies should consider it sometime... after Walt takes a day off himself that is!"

Manami nodded. "Yes, that's an excellent point Kali. When are you giving yourself a day off, Walter? I assume you're going to work tomorrow for another "long day"?"

Walt chuckled shaking his head. "Alright... you ladies got me. Point taken! The answer is I don't know exactly... but I'll see what I can do."

Lita nodded. "Then while you consider that, we'll consider your generous offer, Master."

Walt smiled. "Good enough for now then." He turned to Manami. "Another cup?"

Manami smiled. "Only if you'll join me."

As they poured each other another cup the others excused themselves to give them some space and set about preparing movie snacks. Manami asked Walt's opinion on various movies as she tried to pick something out. Apparently the others had picked...
