What should Lois do next?

Lois questions Rebecca

Lois Lane couldn't waste this chance! She handed out the remaining shots on her tray, offering smiles to the drunkest executives so she could finally lighten her load. Once the tray was empty, Lois looked at Astrid. "Hey, I'm heading back to the bar for more shots," Lois lied. "Maybe more of the pink and yellow ones, they seem to love those."

"Fine," Astrid said, her tone suspicious. "But make it quick, new girl."

Lois nodded, but mumbled angrily under her breath. "What a bitch."

Rebecca Barker stood near the VIP room's entrance. The missing Cadmus scientist was now leaning over a table, showing off her impressive cleavage while she chatted with a couple of drunken executives, her former colleagues. Lois tapped Rebecca's shoulder, and the woman halted her conversation. "Just a second, guys," Rebecca said, her tone sultry. Her luscious red lips parted in a bright smile as she looked at Lois. "Hi, honey! What's up? Need help getting refills? Don't worry, I know Astrid's a hard ass, but follow her lead and you'll be swimming in tips!" She sounded genuine, like she was a fellow waitress giving helpful advice to the new girl.

"Cool, thanks," Lois said, puzzled by Rebecca's behavior. This woman was a scientist, why was she playing waitress? "Your name's Rebecca, right?"

Rebecca Barker laughed, giving Lois a playful smack on the shoulder. "Rebecca?" the woman asked, blinking for a moment, her eyes flashing with realization. But then she shook her head and that flirty smile was back. "No, it's Becky," she said cheerfully. "No biggie, though! The club is super busy tonight, so we haven't even been properly introduced. Was it... Lola?"

"Yep!" Lois said, keeping her cover up. "Super busy, definitely, how long have you worked here?"

Rebecca, or Becky, blinked again, her mind struggling for the answer. "Um," Becky said, playing with her hair as she considered how long she had been a waitress. "Actually, I'm not sure... I guess I've been working too hard... Isn't that funny?" She let out a high-pitched laugh.

Lois couldn't believe it. Here was this missing woman, this former scientist playing waitress in the very club she disappeared in! And even worse, there was clearly some sort of mental conditioning at work, affecting Rebecca Barker's behavior. The woman seemed to struggle to remember who she really was, but whenever she got close, there was a mental block in place. Lois knew she had to get Rebecca out of there as soon as possible. "How about you help me get some more drinks?" Lois suggested with a reassuring smile that she hoped would reach the real Rebecca's mind.

"Sure!" Becky chirped back, giving the executives she was just talking to a flirty wave. "Be right back, boys!"

Hooking her elbow around Rebecca's, Lois led the woman out of the VIP room. They clacked back into the club on their golden heels, but there was nothing suspicious about two waitresses to the mass of club goers who were all dancing, drinking and partying.

Lois scouted for potential escape routes, hoping the crowd might hide the two of them when they made their getaway. There were the double doors leading to the kitchen, surely there was an exit through there. The main entrance was attended by several bouncers, not a great option unless she could talk her way past them. Then there was a side hallway with a single guard. Lois considered her options.

"Lola, why aren't we going to the bar?" Rebecca asked innocently.

"Don't worry," Lois Lane assured her. "We're getting out of here.

But first Lois Lane needed a plan.

What is Lois' plan?
