Chapter 18 by Zeebop Zeebop

What does Lois Lane do?

Lois Lane Decides To Stop The Ceremony

"We have to stop them!" Lois whispered to Angelica Blaze. "The women, they're in some kind of trance or something. You do something to distract him, and I'll sneak around behind him and knock him out."

Angelica Blaze made a face as if she wished to argue. Then she sighed, her shoulders slumped, and she nodded. Lois gave her a quick kiss on the cheek and then began to dash between the tombstones, using every bit of cover she could as she circled around.

"Well met by moonlight, brother," Blaze's voice rang out across the clearing.

The recital from the book stopped. Lois Lane's cheeks burned ass she suddenly realized why the dark man looked so familiar. He and his sister took very much after each other, now that she compared them in her mind's eye.

"Hello, sister," Colin Thornton said. "I did not expect you here."

"I'm sure you did not," Angelica Blaze answered. "Been shopping for acolytes, have you? In my territory?"

There was a clap as the book was shut. Lois continued to circle around, peeked between tombstones. The naked women were on hands and knees, pawing at his robes. Moaning like absolute sluts. Thornton faced Blaze, oblivious to all else.

"You weren't exactly claiming them as your own, my dear," he said slowly. "And I have such better uses for them."

In the wet grass, Lois Lane's hand closed on a broken top of tombstone. The cross etched into was still clearly visible, though the name was long gone. She hefted it up with both hands.

"Unlike you, apparently," Blaze said dryly. "What are you even doing, with that grimoire?"

"Incarnating myself on this plane. Etching my genes into the wombs of these willing vessels. The antichrists they birth will be my anchor here, and they will be my heralds, just like Trigon's whelp..."

"An empire founded on ****," Blaze sneered.

"I suppose you have a better idea?" Thornton shot back. "What have you been up to, sister, in that club of yours? Still waiting to fall in love with the perfect woman? I keep telling you, they're all the same! Cunts with legs, simple minds so easy to twist to our desires."

"You're wrong," Blaze said. "Some of them are quite willful."

Which is when Lois Lane brought about twenty pounds of blessed marble crashing down on the back of Colin Thornton's head.

He was a big man, and Lois had taken no chances. She knew such a blow could kill, but she had little empathy for rapists. As it was, she was surprised as he collapsed, the imprint of the cross a black and sizzling mark amid the bloody ruin of the back of his skull. The book skittered out of his hands, and Angelica Blaze knelt down and picked it up.

"Ladies," Blaze said, in a commanding tone. "Get up and get dressed. And don't listen to the promises of would-be messiahs of evil."

Thornton groaned and stirred. Blaze nodded toward him. "Sweetmeat, lay that chunk of stone on his back, with the cross toward him. He won't follow us, not anytime soon. But we must be away before he does."

Lois did as she was bid. As they were leaving, Lois looked back at Thornton. His cheek was pressed to the ground, but one eye opened and stared at her...and she swore she saw his lips twist into a strange, knowing smile, just like his sister's.

The Women Are Rescued, The Night Is Saved. What Now For Lois And Blaze?
