Linda

Round 2

“Red.” Linda called out as she held up the chip she had drawn.

“Black.” Gillian said as she showed the dark disk she held. Cindy winced. Like you last round, Cindy knew that no matter what she held, she would have to play this round. Linda smiled as Cindy showed that she held a black chip.

“You first.” Cindy told Gillian. The redhead looked over the board. By the time she made a decision, Cindy had dropped her chip, dumped the bag of chips and grabbed the red chip Linda held. Cindy immediately dropped it in the center column next to Gillian’s black chip. After another long pause, Gillian put a black chip on the other side of Cindy’s. Cindy quickly stacked her second chip on top of her first. You took a long swig from your beer as you waited for Gillian to make her next move.

By the time each had dropped five stones in, you were out of beer. Following Linda’s example, you climbed to your feet and crossed to where the stuff along the back wall was. By the time you placed your empty on the desk next to Linda’s, grabbed a fresh beer, opened it, and returned; Cindy was pulling off her other shoe. You handed the beer to a smiling Gillian.

Linda gathered in the chips and put them in the bag. She held out the bag so you could reach in and grab a chip. You grabbed the bag and held it so Linda and then Cindy were able to reach in to grab a chip. Even before everyone revealed their chips, you dumped the bag. Slowly three hands opened to reveal their contents.
