Lilah rubbed her forehead as she looked over the notes. Setting up a library wasn't exactly an easy job. Doing it while also moving in a bunch of occult books with a busybody of a principal was giving her a headache.

When she had signed up for the Watchers, librarian wasn't one of the job descriptions she had been planning on.

Though given some of the activities she had gotten up in her early days...

No, she stopped that line of thinking right there. That was a past that had been buried for many years. She had a purpose now. Help the Slayer.

Except, where in the world was she?

At least it gave her time to keep getting things ready. She looked up at the student who was helping her out. Xander. That was a weird version of the name. But when he saw her struggling to bring books in, he had rushed over to help. A rare act of kindness that she appreciated.

"You're probably wondering about some of the titles," Lilah said as he pulled out some occult tomes.

"What?" he asked confused. "I actually haven't even been looking at them."

Lilah shook her head sadly. Reading was a truly lost art.

He glanced back down into the box, "I think that's everything. Is there a shelf you want me to put them in?"

"No, I'll take care of that," Lilah said as she approached him. "I take it you'll be wanting a reward of some type."

"Not at all, I'm just glad I was able to help."

"No, I insist," Lilah said as she grabbed the bottom of her shirt and pulled it up, taking the bra along with it.

Xander's eyes widened as he stared at her naked tits. She let him get a good look, he'd earned it after all, before pulling her shirt back down. "Thank you, Mr. Harris. I hope you stop by the library again."

"Actually, I have some books I need..." he began.

She lost track of what he was saying. She saw her. The Slayer. Headed toward the library. The moment she had been preparing for. "Yes, whatever, excuse me."

Lilah totally forgot about him as she ran behind the counter to get ready for her destiny.

*This was a close vote. While Fred is one of my favorite BtVS/Angel characters, Lilah fits this role much better.

In this universe, Lilah got picked up by the Watchers instead of law school and Wolfram and Hart. She still has a dark edge to her, and engaged in some unsavory activities much like Giles did, but is generally dedicated to the Watcher cause, if not quite as well meaning as Giles was.
