First Encounter With a Vampire

*I'm going to try and develop the plot of this story a bit more than I have some of my recent ones (that have focused mostly on the sex). Some of these early chapters will be a bit slow in comparison. Parts in italics are author notes and usually will be me recapping plot events that occurred in the series and happen basically the same way in this universe.

Xander thought over the events of the day as he walked towards the Bronze. Buffy had a stake. Buffy and Ms. Morgan talked about vampires as if they were real. A dead student in the locker room which was of surprisingly little concern to everyone.

And now someone was following him. Why had he decided to walk down on of Sunydale's dark alley's again?

Run, hide, or scream for help?

"What are you doing?" a woman said who was right beside him.

Xander screamed as he jumped back. Except instead of being followed by some creepy stranger, it was a short blonde woman. "Sorry, wow, you scared me."

"And you don't think you should be scared of me?" she asked with a smile.

"Well, I mean, I don't want to be insulting," he said as he reached out and put a hand on above her head. "You're shorted than I would expect someone scary to be."

"You will be surprised," she told him as she pulled out a little box. "You know Buffy, right? Can you give this to her?"

He reached out and took the box from her. Part of him wanted to reach out and touch her, but another part told him that wouldn't be okay. "Something is off about you."

"You should know. You're the one who sees things," she said, remembering what she had been told by Whistler. "But you can't see yourself."

Xander opened the box to see a cross inside. "What does that mean?"

When he looked up though, the alley was empty.

"I mean, man, it's Cordelia," Jessie said as he took a sip of his drink. "I just, how could I ever get her attention? Much less get her to go out with me."

"You need a change in attitude. You overthink what you should be doing. Nothing hurts you more with a girl than nerves," the man he was talking to told him.

"Really? Like, you've had girls falling over you sense you walked in here. I wish I had that."

"I can show you how."

Jesse paused to make sure he was serious. "Wow, I'd love that. I'd give anything for that."

The man smiled, "My friends and I are having a party. Come on, I think you'll fit in. I promise you'll have better luck with the ladies after that."

"Awesome, let's go. Oh, I don't think I ever caught you name?"

"Call me Angel."

*Buffy and Lilah meet in the Bronze, Buffy sees Willow being lead away by a vampire, and rushes out to find her.

"Xander!" Buffy said as she rushed out of the Bronze.

"Buffy!" he said surprised as he reached for the box in his pocket.

"Where's Willow?" she asked concerned.

"Why? Is it vampires?"

She paused, both surprised but what he said, and that he had reached out and started to massage her breast. "You know?"

"I know you think you're a Slayer or something, but vampires aren't real. Magic and the supernatural doesn't exist," he said, while continuing to get a good feel of her soft breast.

She knocked his hand away. She hoped he wasn't mad for how rude she was being, but this was a rush. "Listen, believe me or not, but Willow went with a creepy guy. We need to find here."

Xander's focus shifted immediately, "Right, well, I can think of a few places they could go if they were looking to avoid a crowd. Follow me. Oh, here, this if for you."

Buffy took the cross and held it up. "Xander, it's beautiful," she whispered, but he was already ahead of her and didn't here.
