Likely a mountain lion caught a goat or something, can't investigate all the noises in the wilderness

You don't need the food and you don't want to fight anything so best to be on your way. Didn't really sound like a goat but whatever no need to waist you time out here.

Half a day again and the thin tree line has solidified in to dense forest. You know as long as your on the same side of the mountain as you started on you'll hit a small trail that should you head west lead to a highway in a few days.

The green of the leaves is nice, the soft light is sort of soothing in comparison to the heights. It slows your pace and evening is on you. You know a lot of ways to survive in the woods you just need to pick one.
