Like looking at a (naked) mirror

Carol felt every cell of her body bursting with energy as she made her way across the universe before finally reaching our solar system. She knew she had to slow down a bit before entering our atmosphere, or risk igniting all the oxygen in the air. She entered the atmosphere and began scanning for skrulls, notably a naked one.

She flew around the planet before finding a Farmers Market in upstate New York. She looked down, and sure enough, there she was in all her glory. Carol blushed as she had to watch her own naked body walk around nonchalantly as she grabbed peaches, cucumbers, and an eggplant. Carol rolled her eyes at the sexual innuendo swirling in her head. As soon as her nude doppelganger stepped close to an alleyway, she made her move.

The naked Carol had been enjoying a relaxing day out. Being a nudist away from the big city felt much less confining. She enjoyed te sun on her skin, and it seemed all the vendors and other adults shopping today (all kids were in school) didn't seem to mind or even encouraged her "outfit". As she casually walked past an alley, a gloved hand grapsed her shoulder and pulled her inside.

"Hey, I have powers, and I'm and Avenger, so don't mess with...me." The naked Carol said, holding her clenched fists u to her chest in a defensive stance.

"Yeah, me. Hi. Nice to finally meet...me." The clothed Carol said.

"Listen, you were missing, presumed dead. I liked your look, so I just...borrowed it. However, when you resurfaced as a superhero, that's when things got crazy." The naked Carol said.

"Tell me about it. So, does everyone on this planet think you're me, or do they know you're a shape-shifting alien?"

"Talos knows since we made contact not long ago. He's been mimicking Fury for a while since Nick is off world helping us rebuild our culture and people."

"Great, Talos has seen me naked. So, the Avengers aren't the wiser? How are you allowed to be naked?"

"I can explain. Let's go somewhere that won't be weirded out about seeing two of us."

"Talos?"

"Talos."

The naked Carol reached into her bag and pulled out her phone. She texted someone quickly, and less than a minute later, a limousine pulled up inside the alley. Both Carols got inside and the car began making its way to an unknown destination. The clothed Carol sat facing forward while the naked Carol chose a seat facing her clothed counterpart, her back against the partition dividing the passengers from the driver.

"To make you more comfortable, now that we're alone, I'll drop the act." The naked Carol said.

The clothed Carol watched her body morph from one with her features and skin tone to a green one that was not much different, other than the green skin and slightly different proportions. Not to mention that her face was definitely a Skrull's and not a humans. Her areolas were a dark green, but otherwise looked human. Before Carol could peek at what the alien had between her legs, she had already crossed them to keep a part of her hidden. Carol then saw the driver was a Skrull too, having removed his Disguise as well.

"My name is Edun. I have been here since you escaped the Skrul ship in 1995. I saw it as a means to finally be who I wanted to be."

"But why...naked?" Carol nervously chuckled.

"I never understood the humans fascination with clothing"

"Yeah, but dont Skrulls wear clothes too?"

"We are allowed to forego modesty if we so choose. I may be a bit different in that I chose full nudity, but my people are ok with it."

The Skrull driving the car gave a glance to Carol and silently shook his head "no"

"So, what exactly have you been up to while you've been...me?" Carol asked, aggravated.

"Like i said, until you returned to fight Thanos, everyone thought you had disappeared. The Rambeaus thought it was odd i didnt come around, but I explained to Maria how i enjoyed being naked, but not around children. I could tell it was difficult for her to accept, but she was already used to...us not being there, so she simply stopped calling. Too bad that she passed away, and her daughter was blipped. Heard she may have powers now after a confrontation with Wanda Maximoff." Edun explained.

"So, did the Avengers contact you or did you somehow bump into them? How are you allowed to be naked?!" Carol asked.

"Oh, I was shocked to discover how easy it was. You have so many Avengers in your contacts, and many asked what was going on when they saw me on tv as you. I told them I'm a nudist. And they asked if I wanted it to be a permanent thing, which I do. Dr. Banner was shocked, but said he'd make the necessary calls."

"Wait. You talked to Bruce?" Carol asked, thinking about their prior interactions.

"FaceTimed actually."

"So he ssw...you, me...US...?" Carol blushed.

"Naked. Yeah."

Carol buried her face in her hands, trying to make sense of al this.

"The rest of them weren't as nervous to see me though." Edun added.

"Wait, what?" Carol lifted her head to be sure she heard right.

"Oh, I was on one of those hologram calls. A nice bald Wakandan woman said I looked very fit. A man wearing a suit of armor thought it was a bit odd, but he said he coul get used to it, which made me smile. However, this raccoon insisted on taking pictures of me. I asked him to keep it to himself, which he didn't seem to hear since he didn't answer. They all seemed nice, despite how flustered they seemed to be." Edun explained.

Carol felt dizzy. So much second hand embarrassment. She didn't think she could bear (or was it "bare"?) it.

"It looks like we're here." Edun announced.

Carol looked out the windows and saw they had pulled into a hangar. Likely part of the newly rebuilt Avengers Complex. Carol and Edun exited the car and were greeted by Nick Fury.

"Edun! Nice to see you, as always. Captain Danvers. This is a surprise." He said

"She told me the truth, Talos. You can stop pretending." Carol said.

Nick's shoulders dropped and within seconds he became Talos.

"Aww, but I do so love being Nicholas. He has such a way of delivering insults. Still, it's great to see you. The real you." Talos said.

"Imagine how surprised was when I saw Edun here walking around naked while wearing my body." Carol replied.

"I'm sure it was a shock. Edun here is a special case. She has gathered a lot of attention, but it seems everyone has embtaced her look. Iean, she makes sure to stay clothed where there are children, but otherwise her body is completely exposed. I think the public has seen her nudity as a way to show her strength through vulnerability. Even without armor, she fights, and she wins."

"That is pretty impressive." Carol concurs.

"And now you're here, I see I need to update your look a bit." Edun said, transforming into Carol and adapting Carol's shorter hairstyle.

It's not as short as it was when she helped the Avengers fight Thanos's army, but it was shorter than when she first got her powers. Beyond that, not much has changed.

"Yeah, it's like looking into a mirror that makes me look naked when I'm clothed." Carol replied.

"However...now that you're here, we need to have a discussion about your future." Talos said.
