Like Lightning From A Clear Sky

Suddenly the goddess stands before you, her face a mask you cannot read. Her eyes are like those of a cat, except they glow with the same gold light that had possessed Dana. Elegant waves of mahogany hair fall across her back, somehow both wild and graceful. Her body is that of a hunter, sleek and toned, neither too curvy nor too svelt. The luxurious animal furs draped over her look positively pockmarked in comparison to her flawless olive skin. As she smiles you see her teeth are somewhat sharper than a humans aught to be. She looks like some kind of sexy cavewoman/amazon hybrid, the look completed by the feral nature of her eyes and teeth.

"You would DARE bargain with ME?" She demands of Dana, ignoring you completely.

"For him, I would dare much." Dana responds, clearly afraid, yet defiant in spite of it.

"That you would, that you WILL." Vienna says and between one frame and the next is gone.

You wait for a count of 20, expecting something to happen, and then...

I guess she decided not t- Then the world goes mad.

First eight bolts of yellow-white fire fly out of the eight points of the compass and slam into Dana, then the ground began to shake, and the walls of the canyon started to collapse!

You dive for Dana and wrap her in your vines, shielding her from the falling rocks, and spikes of stone starting to erupt out of the ground!

Before you can even react you are surrounded on all sides by razor edged pillars of stone, eight of them, and then eight more bolts of golden fire streak from the edges of your field of vision, even counting the tiny trickle of 'ocular' input you get from your leaves detecting differing levels of insolation, which you CAN feel from these bolts as they streak towards you, brighter than the sun!

You don't even have a CHANCE to dodge as the eight bolts strike home, having crossed from horizon to you in a fraction of a second!

They explode, hurtling you high into the air, over the stone spikes, and...
