What is in the Stage
Light Show
You wanted your 50 dollars now, because in the middle of the stage and holding up the mirror was none other than the violet-haired witch Circe, her smug grin was very much all you needed to know that in fact this had been a trap, and what she intended to do with that mirror was no secret for you, this was not just a victory, she was going to rub it in the one heroine that had bested her all the time, using the mirror to make Wonder Woman fall in love with her.
Well, this was the reason why they paid you right? Instead of the battle cry that others would do you simply ran up to the stage and jumped to make a great arc with your bat to her head “Hey bitch!” okay, maybe you wanted to do a one-liner, and it worked because Circe turned around and barely had time to raise her hands before the impact of aluminum with glass.
It seems that when she raised her arms she used the mirror as a shield and this one exploded in energy sending you flying while shards of the mirror imbedded themselves in your arms and face, getting absorbed by your body but leaving behind the injuries.
Hitting the floor hard you lost your breathe, the pain was bad, but it was the sun inside your eyes and brain that was making you dizzy, the only thing you knew was the presence of Circe standing close to you.
“Just like always, a fool mortal placing his life for the amazon, how quaint, do you have any last word before you suffer the consequences?” nice, it left you only one thing under your sleeve, or under your jacket.
“What about… smile bitch!” you said opening your eyes completely while at the same time letting loose the camera with flash that you had, in that precise moment all that pain in your eyes was let go, making them release a magenta light that alongside the flash illuminated the whole warehouse making the only two conscious people besides you cringe at it becoming blinded for a second. But beyond that, there was something else; the full power of the mirror had been loose alongside the flash, making subtle and not so subtle changes on the personalities of the heroine and villainess.
Blinking several times to get the spots of color dissipate and to get your sight back the only thing you can notice first is a pair of clear blue eyes showing worry about you, which was beyond weird considering not a minute ago those eyes were very much trying to kill you.
“Were you hurt? Are you alright?” Not only the words, but the way they were spoken, full of worry and warm, it was more than enough to make you completely confused about the situation.
“Wait... wh… what?”
“Oh poor you, you must have hit your head harder than I thought, please, let me heal you” before she could touch you a golden lasso caught her and she was hauled in the direction of the owner of said lasso, Wonder Woman was mad, thankfully it wasn’t with you.
“Not only you had the gall to hurt him, but now you are trying to get your hands on MY sidekick?!” the way she put emphasis on the ‘my’ was tinted with something that was not very recognizable for you, maybe possession? That was weird, but was weirder even was what happened next, once Wonder Woman put her eyes on you she did a complete 180 because she smiled before basically teleporting to your side with how fast she moved, instead of her helping you up or maybe asking you what happened, but no, she kneeled at your side and put her hands on your face, carefully checking your injuries with surprising tenderness.
“Oh, my poor Phalanx, what did that witch did to you?!” wait… did she called you Phalanx? So it seems she had listened to you a couple of days ago about the name issue, but this was getting ridiculous with the way she was practically babying you, not that it was bad, really, here it was the Princess of the Amazons treating you like a… well, lover or something? What in the hell?
Milk it for all it is worth or maybe try to find some order in all this crazyness.
