Lie and hope that May doesn't dig any further

"I'm willing to listen." Carol answered and took a seat. Meeting her daughter's gaze, she took a moment to clear her mind. She no doubt needed to listen carefully to what Caroline suggested for the sake of fostering a better bond with the older of her two grandchildren.

"Your best bet is to feign ignorance and hope for the best." Caroline answered and Carol raised an eyebrow. While that was certainly an option, that was bound to create even more problems later down the road.

"Okay. Then what do I tell her then?" Carol inquired and got a chuckle from her daughter. Of course it was up to her to figure out that part of the plan out.

"That's up for you to decide, mother. You have that smart, well-traveled brain of yours. You're bound to know your way around a story. Right?" Caroline cooed and Carol's cheeks went red.

Muttering something off to the side, that was enough to calm the grandmother down.
