Lexi investigates the scent

The sweet scent was bothering Lexi. It was so unusual that it was strangely intoxicating, she had never smelt such in all her travelling and she travelled a lot. As no attack was coming Lexi removed her hand from the hilt of her sword and slung her backpack over her shoulder she set off into the undergrowth. Lexi stopped every few steps and sniffed to see if the scent was getting stronger. She went the wrong direction a few times as the scent got mixed with other smells or was disturbed by a slight breeze but soon she found it source.

Pushing through the undergrowth Lexi stepped in to a large clearing. The clearing was empty, not even grass was growing so the ground was bare earth, except for what looked to Lexi like a large plant. The plant had no stem, just petals, about 6 feet tall, folded up into a dome and six broad green leaves flat to the ground. The scent in the clearing was overwhelming and it made Lexi's hole body tingle. She was taking deep sniffs, appreciating the exotic and exciting new scent. Lexi took a step forward and something crunched beneath her sandal, moving her foot to one side Lexi saw she had crushed what looked like a seed about the size of her thumb nail, a blue liquid smeared across the ground. Paying more attention Lexi saw that in places these seeds were scattered about the clearing. Lexi approached the plant slowly, the scent filling her nose and seemingly her mind. After a whole day with her guard up expecting an attack suddenly she wasn't paying attention on her surroundings, just on following her nose and breathing in more of the delicious scent. As Lexi approached her backpack slide from her grasp and landed behind her legs. As she stood at the edge of one of the leaves the petals suddenly opened up and revealed a large fleshy hole. All of a sudden Lexi snapped out of her trance just as a thick green tentacle shot out of the hole.
