"Okay," Karen summarized. "We're down to webcam, where you already have a job offer, stripping--"

"Which I won't do. I don't want a bunch of drunks pawing at my body and stuffing dirty dollar bills up my koochi."

"Okay, so stripping is out. Waitressing at Hooters or seeing if Matt's girlfriend can find you a job at that Italian place."

"Of which the Italian place probably pays the worst," Matt added.

"Of which the Italian place is the only one that I'd actually consider," their mom continued. "I am not going to have my children harassed by people who saw their mom masturbating on some webcam show."

"Actually, they'd be jealous that I had such a hot and cool mom, but we're going for something you feel comfortable with. And if we don't come up with the money--"

"If we don't come up with the money we'll move back to Michigan," their mom said. "We can move in with my parents."

Karen shook her head as hard as she could which Matt agreed with. It was bad enough for him, being a guy. But his grandfather was an old-time preacher who thundered about all of America's problems being caused by women running around without being properly controlled by men. He'd have Karen in one of those Handmaiden outfits and taking chastity pledges in no time. Not that it would be a picnic for a guy but according to granddad, the wrath of God was especially reserved for females... that Eve thing.

"We're going to make something work," Matt promised. "Now, why don't I stay home from school today and keep looking. Karen can take notes and--"

"Absolutely not," their mom declared. "My goal in life is to have you guys have more choices than I had and that means getting an education. I don't think you'd look good in a Hooters outfit, Matt. Orange isn't your color, either."

"But--"

"There are no buts. And since we're late for the bus, I'll drive you. It's not like I have anything else to do. I'll check out the Peninsula Center while I'm in the area and see if anyone there is looking for help."
