Legends: Arceus

"Akari..."

The glowing light pulsated, as if Arceus was contemplating your name, repeating it to feel how it sounded.

Or maybe it just liked repeating things. God works in mysterious ways.

"Soon thou shalt find thyself in a world strange to thee..."

Arceus continued on, apparently satisfied with your answer to it's identity inquiry.

"A world inhabited by wondrous creatures that humans call 'pokemon'."

Now god was just messing with you, you thought. Your world already had pokemon, so what was so strange about this new world that needed your attention? You wondered, perhaps questioning if maybe Arceus had more information it was leaving out.

"Akari..."

"Seek out all pokemon, and thou shalt find me once more."

So this is what the almighty Arceus wanted to ask from you. To go on a collecting quest of (supposingly) great importance.

Many pokemon professors liked to tell trainers about "catching 'em all", but it generally seemed like a side mission or pipe dream. Most trainers just used their pokemon for battle and other activities, though some have dedicated their time and effort to make catching all pokemon their life's mission. Seemed like an impossible dream, in your honest opinion, as nowadays it seemed that tons of new pokemon were being discovered every second.

Or every 3 years, to be precise.

Before you could engage in even more deep thought, the light dissappeared, blipping out of existence in a flash. Now, only inky blackness surrounded you.

And you were free-falling.

The **** that kept you levitating and suspended gave out from beneath you, making you fall head first downwards deeper into the endless darkness.

You looked down (or up in this case seeing as you were upside down) to find that you were still wearing the clothes you wore to sleep, a white T-shirt with short blue pants. So this is your funeral attire. You wanted to scream, but your phone materialized above you, catching your attention as it floated down to you.

You held out a hand to grab it. Just within reach... But unfortunately it was moving too fast, spinning away from you as it descended out of your control.

And then, sparks appeared. Glowing sparks like fireworks of pure light. At first only a few appeared and disappeared as rapidly as they formed, making you wonder if you were seeing things. Then, a whole lot of them appeared, a whole festival fireworks light display filled the blank void as you finally righted yourself. You shaked off your dizziness, looking around at the lightshow.

The light sparks appeared in a large mass behind your floating phone, glowing and getting brighter until...

A wave of calmness washed over you. You were in the presence of the divine creator.

The lights gathered to form the outline of the god named Arceus. It's mysterious and unearthly form clad in light gave off an aura of majesty, with the creator pokemon leaving you in awe.

It leaned it's head back as the light increased, but no roar came out. Instead, your phone started glowing too, as if Arceus was imbuing some of it's power into it, before it was sent your way.

You looked at the glowing orb that was once your phone before looking back to Arceus, speechless. The god only gave you a knowing look, before stars appeared and curved in a circle around it, swirling and giving off a brilliant light that you had to close your eyes for.

And with that you were whisked away, sent into a strange, yet familiar new land by the power of god. Your story was just beginning.
