Legate Lanius’ slave

Chapter 15 by Diggitydog6 Diggitydog6

For someone who aided the Legion so much, with such prestige. Ceaser saw fit that the best way to both respect and break the Courier was to give her to the mightest of the Legion. The Courier was brought before Legate Lanius within his tent. The Courier was forced to kneel before the Legate; forced to watch as he brought his blade to strike. In her mind, was this how it ended? The regrets flooded her tears flowing down her exposed body. The Legate came down, slashing Angel’s eyes. Ridding her of her sight and when it comes down to it her numerous skills that made her independent. Angel’s tears turned red as she strained against her restraints. Cries of pain were drowned by her cries of desperation. Legate Lanius cared not for her cries; he grabbed the Courier by the hair and dragged and brought before the sacrificial pit. The smell penetrated her nose; it was pugnat and it clung to her.

“Profligate, the pup that walks into the night-stalker’s den. Smell the fate of those who cross me, son of Mars.” The Legate left the Courier to ruminate. The Courier got the message, powerless to resist; she gave up. Angel gave up on trying to flee; she was in the thick of enemy territory with most of her skills becoming redundant since they relied so heavily on eyesight. So she gave up, she served Legate Lanius with all her reluctant conviction. She fumbled about, learning to walk without sight. She learned to serve Legate Lanius in both needs and “needs”. Eventually her good behavior gained her the great honor of serving the Legate without restraint. And so the Courier who had come so far, continued to serve the Legion; though it was not in the way she had imagined. She continued to serve till her death.
