“No. I’m not being left in the dark. Not this time,” Nadia said.

Xiao Mei got up from the table and ran away.

“Hey! Where are you going?” Nadia said.

Xiao Mei was out the double doors into the hotel corridor. Nadia ran after. A waiter tried to stop her, but Nadia got around. She saw Xiao Mei running away in the distance, looking back over her shoulder, then crashed into a trolley loaded with towels.

Nadia caught up, “Are you my friend or what?!”

Xiao Mei was in tears. Sobbing and red.

“Nadia… I am your friend… But I don’t want to die…” Xiao Mei said.
