Leeloo was making a play for you

You slowly come awake to what seems to be a whispered argument. Mona's place is a one-bedroom, and you're on the couch, so unless any urgent discussion is behind a closed bedroom door, it's not going to be any kind of secret. And the sounds are coming from the kitchen.

"Hey guys," you start out. Guys as in gals because it's Leeloo and Mona. "Fridge is kinda bare, gonna make a store run, you want to text me your grocery list? Unless you want me to pick up some takeout."

None of you are actually working today, and there's just one car, so unless someone calls a car for Leeloo, you better give them some space to work out whatever it is that started out with Mona lending out your dick and continued with Mona dragging Leeloo into the bedroom and closing the door, and now is rolling on with some kind of disagreement.

"Hey Lee, will you just, you know, just go with Joe?" Mona tells her friend. "Come back around noon, okay? I'm not ready for food."

Leona, as you remember from her work badge, comes over from the kitchen. She's wearing yesterday's work pants and one of your flannel shirts over one of your T-shirts, because Leeloo is way bigger up top than Mona, and it would be a ridiculous stretch for Leeloo to borrow anything of hers.

"I-HOP?" you ask Leeloo, once you're both buckled in.

"Village Inn? I kinda want pie," Mona's disheveled redhead girlfriend says.

Not that you're any too fresh looking yourself, Joe-me-oh.

"Sure." You start the car. "So Mona really sent you a dick pic?"

"Yup."

"Okay."

Leeloo folds down the passenger sun visor to use the mirror to finger-comb her red hair.

Over pie and coffee, it comes out that Leeloo is kinda sick of being a retail wage **** and weirdly jealous of Mona getting accidentally pregnant and having her baby daddy actually being mostly around and mostly helpful and though she'll take anything she can get, like a loaner dick ride courtesy of Mona, she wouldn't mind having something in her life other than working until she blows out her overtime limits and going out for Dark N' Stormys at the Man Friday and not even getting in fights anymore.

"That was just one time I got in a fight," Leeloo says. "And it's how I met Mona! Dumb luck I guess. So, I dunno, Joe, you got any guy friends who aren't trash or taken?" she asks.

"Uh. I'll have to think about it." Yourself, you might be trash and taken, depending on who you ask.

Before Mona and you got tangled up in the "I'm keeping the baby" thing, Leeloo had been asking Mona about moving in together.

"Housemates?"

"Yeah, we were seeing each other and borrowing each other's stuff so much, I mean even a couple of guys we both dated, that we started joking about just moving in together."

"Except moving in together was never really a joke? How much are you and Mona into each other?"

"I don't know, you know? We've only had sex when we were both drunk and fooling around. Except last night. I was the only one drinking. And she, well, she insisted."

Oh. Maybe Mona is only pretending to be a straight girl, and really she's more like one of the Bleeding Gardenias except that she's into you personally.

You switch to just asking Leeloo about herself. Her nametag LEONA P is short for Leona Peterman. "I know, right? I got teased so much. It's practically a Proper Job Club name for for the trophy wife who hits on the pool boy. Oh, haha, sorry Joe."

Because you are the pool boy, and at least Karen Yoshida and you are "I'd hit that" pals to each other. Karen is probably headed to being half of a power couple rather than a trophy wife.

There's enough time to do a grocery run, and Leeloo knows more about Mona's shopping choices than you do, even after halfway moving in with her. Yup, you may have derailed Mona and Leona moving in together.

Mona is asleep when you get back.

"You take the bed, Joe, you look tired," Leeloo says. "I'll watch TV or something. I'd offer to cook but what a joke. Mona's the cook. Me? Just holiday stuff, really."

Sleep finds you again as you lie on top of the covers next to Mona.
