You eventually find a job serving in the security detail of a planetary governor. It's a decent job, but totally lacking the excitement of your old fleet position. But to balance it off, you are able to settle down and start a life with Serena. You are soon married, and spend your lives together in blissful, if ordinary, circumstances. The only blight on your life is the occasional night where you wake up in a cold sweat...nightmares about the fate of your lost ship haunting your dreams.
