Leave the City
Lauren was led around through a whirlwind of activity. First they were taken to the stables, where everyone mounted on horses. Lauren stood by awkwardly.
"What's wrong M'lady?" Asked Sir. Marlis.
"I don't know how to ride a horse." Lauren explained.
Vaniss the ranger scoffed at this.
"She sounds most useful." The elf said disdainfully.
"Forgive her M'lady." Marlis said. "The elves have some doubts about the prophecy. You may ride upon my steed."
He extended his hand and pulled Lauren up onto the back of his horse. Lauren was happy to get to be so close to this studly knight! And 'm'lady'... she liked that! The only problem was he was convinced she was the sacred child. She'd have to find a way to make him see her as the adult woman she was.
Then they headed towards the city gates. Once more they passed the cheering procession. Before Lauren had been embarrassed being paraded around in nothing but her pajamas, but that was great compared to this immature hot pink outfit she wore now! She wished she had something to cover her stubby legs, but was exposed to the cheering crowds as they headed out of the city...
