Chapter 3 by CharlestheCrungo
Does she wait or leave right away?
Leave immediately.
Deciding it was safer to leave as soon as she could Julie began to pack up her survival supplies. She did not have much to pack, just some food rations, water, a spare set of clothes and some miscellaneous survival gear, all carefully put into her travel backpack. Finally she grabbed her trusty crowbar, a useful tool of self defense and burglary. With all her gear in check Julie headed to the door, taking a deep breath as she mentally prepared herself for her journey.
Opening the door slowly, she peeked outside. Her safe house was on the top floor of a five story apartment building, and there was a safe exit at the end of the hall. Thankfully she already knew there were no nests in the building, so she confidently walked out to the exit. It lead her to a set of stairs which lead both up to the roof and down to the street, of which she took the former.
From the roof, she could walk across a makeshift bridge to the adjacent buildings rooftop. Someone had set up these little bridges along the rooftops, Julie figured it must be a safe path to the edge of the city, as it goes in that direction. They were rather rickety, but felt safe enough, so she carefully began walking across, doing her best to stay alert in case of any monsters.
Luckily for her she encountered nothing, though occasionally she could see lumbering shapes in the streets, or far off on other buildings. But luck only lasts so long, for when Julie reached the fourth building she began to hear another noise in the distance. A loud droning sound was coming from the east, and getting louder. Julie dropped to the ground and hid behind a large AC unit while peeking out. She figured it was some sort of flying creature, but was surprised when she finally saw what it was.
It was three large military helicopters flying in a wedge formation. Eventually they broke formation, one heading north, another south, while the center helicopter continued forward. It ended up passing right above her, and shortly afterwards someone started speaking over a loudspeaker attached to the helicopter.
"TO ANYONE THAT CAN HEAR THIS, THIS IS A MILITARY RESCUE CHOPPER. PLEASE MAKE YOUR WAY EAST TO HARMONY HOPSITAL FOR EVACUATION. I REPEAT, HEAD TO HARMONY HOSPITAL FOR EVACUATION. THE ARMED FORCES HAVE ESTABLISHED A DEFENSIVE LOCATION THERE. YOU WILL BE SAFE THERE FROM PSEUDOSECT ATTACKS."
Julie was shocked.... were these people idiots?! The Pseudosects were barely active at night, but upon detecting a large amount of activity they go into a frenzy. And sure enough as the helicopter continued broadcasting its message, a swarm of Ovi-Wasps flew up from their nest, attacking the helicopter. Julie saw gunshots go off, and several of the Ovi-Wasps fall dead. But there were too many, and soon they had grabbed onto the helicopter, using strong blades on their front legs to tear their way in. The pilot could not keep the vehicle steady, and made a crash landing.
Already all manner of creatures were climbing out of their dens, making a big ruckus as they searched for the source of the disturbance. With panic starting to settle in, Julie once more had to make a choice.... Does she try to return to her previous safe house or risk continuing on while the Pseudosects were in a frenzy?
Turn back or continue on?

Rise of the Pseudosects.
Julie's Nightmare.
Poor Julie was excited to start her college life, but a sudden invasion of strange monsters has thrown those dreams out the window! Now, with the city quarantined, she has to find a way to escape, all without getting caught. Will she manage to get out? Or will she fall prey to the Pseudosects? (This story features primarily insectoid monsters, monster , and lots of oviposition. I do plan to add other types of creatures in the future. I plan to treat this mostly as a linear story, with each of the branching paths being "bad ends", but I am not sure how far I will take the story. I might end up doing alternative paths, with their own bad end branches and plot points, all depends on how much people like the story lol. Please do leave a like and some feedback if you enjoy the story! I would love to hear what people think.)
