Adrenaline pushed Lois Lane past the pain in her leg as she hobbled away from the crypt, the statue, and the screaming mad thing she had kicked in the balls. Out in the corridor, Lois bolted to the elevator, slammed the button—but though there was a clank, the doors did not open immediately. Heart thundering in her chest, Lois turned to her left, down the corridor.

The figure that stood there, scarlet and nude, looked less human than before. Still humanoid, two legs and two arms, but the horns had grown, bull-like, and now faced forward, the legs were digitigrade, covered with black animalistic hair, and the long arms now hung down so far that the crimson claws scraped against the floor.
