Leatherback Turtle

You thought your species was pretty distinct from the other sea turtle variety, but perhaps your kind only occasionally frequented the shallower waters this mermaid resides in, preferring to roam the open oceans.

You are a leatherback, a warm-blooded species among the reptiles, outstripping most of the other species in weight-class and possessing a distinct, black, leathery shell.

"Leatherback huh, never been with your kind before." She muses to herself eyeing you up and down predatorily. "Here is one final question. As you well know Merfolk torsos are different from those of sea creatures, and resemble more those of land dwellers. What kind of torso do you identify yourself as having?"

You look at her with a frown.

"Don't look at me like I'm stupid, this question is mandatory!" She bristles, neon blue flashing from the sand again, and this time you catch a one running through her eyes.
