Leah worked the front ticket counter for the Homecoming game.

The Concessions stand was almost always the worst duty--even with good company. The crazy fans surging to fill their bellies almost never ended. At least for the ticket booth you only had to work a rush at the start of the game and were finished by the half since they just open it up to anyone after that.

Leah jotted her name down for the ticket booth and later that day when she showed up for duty she was given the cash box and tickets by Principal Howard who was very matter of fact and even looked a bit flustered with all that had to be done. Leah wasn't alone, Mrs. Douglas was there to help her. Principal Howard gave them the speech on how to handle the money and the tickets and then quickly hurried on. This wasn't Leah nor Mrs. Douglas's first rodeo. The two caught up and talked about the normal school gossip before the first overly eager parents and grandparents began to show up way before time.

They sold some tickets and then had a nice lull before the band and the football team began to show up to the field early.

Both Coach Reed and the band director Jason were walking nearby and Leah knew she had a chance to probably talk with at least one of them.
