"Excuse me?" Mr. Howard said, taken a bit aback.

"I don't have time for this. I have things to do--I am a teacher." Leah said moving toward the door.

"Are you fucking kidding me?" Mr. Howard said raising his voice. Loud enough that Amber could probably hear...and she would talk.

"I'm NOT doing it." she said raising her own voice. "NOT today." Leah opened the door and began exit. Mr. Howard was about to say something, his face turning red. But Leah had the door open and Mr. Howard didn't risk yelling with the secretary just outside. Leah slammed the door behind her on her way out. Oh Amber would still talk. But Leah could look at herself in the mirror that night at least.
