Lea gripped the steering wheel, her knuckles white against the leather, as the city streets blurred past. The tears from the café had dried into salty tracks on her cheeks, but the ache in her chest pulsed harder with every mile. She fumbled for her phone at a red light, dialing Tori's number with shaking fingers. The call rang once, then cut to a dead tone - no connection, just static silence. "Fuck," she muttered, slamming the phone into the passenger seat. She pulled over into a half-empty parking lot behind a strip mall, the kind with flickering neon signs for a pawn shop and a laundromat that smelled like dryer sheets even from outside. Texting was her last shot: *Tori, please. We need to talk. I love you.* She hit send, watching the message fail to deliver, a little red exclamation mocking her. Blocked. The realization hit like a gut punch. Tori had shut her out completely.
The drive home dragged, each turn a reminder of routes she'd taken with Tori shotgun, her hand on Lea's thigh, teasing higher until Lea had to pull over just to kiss her. Now, she felt a void. Michael was in his home office, working on new fashion designed for the next season. He looked up, concern etching his face at her red eyes. "Lea? What happened?"
She collapsed into the easy chair near his desk, the words tumbling out in a rush. "Tori broke up with me. She... she can't do this anymore, the waiting, the indecision. It's over." Her voice cracked, but she **** herself to meet his gaze.
Michael's shoulders relaxed almost imperceptibly, a flicker of relief she couldn't miss. He went over, bent down, and pulled her into a hug, his arms familiar but lacking the electric pull she'd felt with Tori. "I'm sorry babe. But hey, maybe this is for the best. We can work through this, you and me. You're staying, right?" His hand rubbed her back in slow circles, the gesture meant to comfort but landing flat.
"Yeah," she whispered, though the word felt like ash in her mouth. Guilt twisted in her gut - not just for Michael, but for the lie she was living. That night, after a quiet dinner of takeout Thai that neither finished, they ended up in bed. Michael was gentle, kissing her neck as he peeled off her shirt, his hands roaming her body like he was mapping territory he already knew. Lea went through the motions, spreading her legs as he positioned himself between them, his cock sliding into her with a familiarity that bordered on routine. She moaned on cue, her mind elsewhere—flashing to Tori's fingers, rougher, more demanding, pinning her down in the kitchen that one night, whispering "you're mine" while thrusting deep with a strap-on that made Lea see stars. Michael's thrusts picked up, his breath hot against her ear, but she stared at the ceiling, picturing Tori's green eyes, the way they'd locked on hers during that confession in bed, tears streaming as Lea said "I love you". He came with a grunt, collapsing onto her, and she faked her release, her body tense and untouched by the friction. As he rolled off, snoring softly within minutes, Lea lay awake, her pussy aching not from him but from the ghost of what she'd lost.
Morning came too soon, the alarm buzzing like an unwelcome intruder. Lea dressed quickly, throwing on yoga pants and a loose tank, her routine a shield against the chaos. The gym was her Hail Mary. Maybe Tori would be there, cooling off, ready to hash it out. The parking lot was half-full when she arrived, the air thick with the scent of exhaust and fresh-cut grass from the nearby field. Inside, the weights clanged, but Tori's station was empty, her usual spot by the free weights abandoned. Lea pushed through her workout anyway, pounding the treadmill until her legs burned, sweat dripping down her back. Halfway through a set of squats, her phone vibrated in her pocket. She checked it - Hildi.
"Hey, Lea," Hildi's voice came through, hesitant but kind, the same tone she'd used weeks ago when warning Lea about Tori's abandonment issues over coffee. "Tori called me last night. She... she asked me to pass on a message. She's blocked your number, and she's not coming back to the gym. She quit."
Lea's knees buckled slightly, and she leaned against the mirrored wall, the cool glass grounding her. Tears pricked her eyes again, hot and immediate. "What? Hildi, how is she? Please, tell me she's okay."
A pause, then Hildi's sigh. "She came over to me and Sasha's place last night. Cried the whole time, Lea. Like, uncontrollable. She loves you - really fucking loves you. You hurt her real bad, keeping her in limbo like that."
The words sliced deep, echoing the guilt that had kept Lea up. She swallowed hard, wiping her face with the back of her hand. "Tell her... tell Tori I love her too. AndI'll make it right. For both of us." Hildi promised she would, and the call ended, leaving Lea staring at her reflection, determined lines etching her face.

Michael is off traveling on another business trip and Lea is home - alone. No more was there the warmth, comfort, love, passion, and fulfillment she had being with Tori. Many times she contemplated going to Tori’s apartment to see her or calling Hildi to convince Tori to see her, but didn’t.
A month later, Lea called the owner of the modelling agency where she worked for many years. She asked and was given a job to scout for new modeling talent. This was a big step for Lea, allowing her some financial independence.
The month after that, she told Michael, home from a business trip, she was moving out. A friend had offered to rent his apartment to her while he was living aboard for the next two years. Michael was devastated. He begged her to stay, but knew she was not happy being with him.
Lea called Hildi after not speaking for more than two months. She told Hildi that she's now working, has moved away from Michael, and is living alone in an apartment. She also said she would be filing for divorce in the next few weeks. Lea asked about Tori. Hildi said Tori is working at another gym, but is still hurting. She doesn’t have the positive energy and zest for life she had when they were together. Lea asked Hildi to give Tori a message that she still loves her and is working to make it right.
Four month thereafter, Michael and Lea formally divorce. Lea received a generous settlement, which meant along with her current employment, could live comfortably financially.
Lea called Hildi and told her the divorce was final. She said she still loved and missed Tori. Lea would love to see Tori again, but if Tori decided not to, and has moved on with her life, she would understand. Hildi said she would give Tori the message.
