Chapter 6 by ShadeWriter ShadeWriter

But what after that?

Laying low and Practice

Thoughts raced through Vivi's mind. Of what to do with this power.... of WHO do to with this power. She drank in how strong she felt now, and the new curves weren't bad either. She felt like she could take on the world, and maybe several partners over a weekend.

But she'd gotten this power by being sly and careful. She couldn't just run off and jam the first person she came across or start changing entire towns or something. No..., she'd have to be selective about how to do this. Pick off mages on missions or townsfolk that won't be missed... or noticed. Maybe she could start in this small town...,

After all, if people started to go missing or act weird, a Guild might come looking. And they wouldn't spend their best and brightest... or if they did maybe only one.

Point was she wanted to get this magic some time to practice before she went off and planned any big shows.

"HEY.... HEY!!!"

Vivi rolled her eyes as a voice shouted at her. Older looking lady in a kitchen dress was waving her arms as she walked past a building. The heavy stock woman caught up and blocked her way.

"HEY now missy. You walked out of paying me last night. You owe me my Jewels." she demanded, clunching her hand open and close.

"Eh..., don't got it." Vivi said with a shrug, "Whatcha gonna do about it, arrest me?"

The woman growled as her hand turned into a fist but Vivi brought up her bag in a way to protect herself. The smile on her face though didn't make it seem like she was scraed though.

"Chill out lady, I got your Jewels. I just went treasure hunting and got a haul. Tell you what," She purred out with a smile on her lips, "Lemme jog on down to the Appraisal office in town, get my pay out and come back to pay you...., and if I don't just call a Guild to come find me or something. K?"

"I..., RRR FINE if you're good with getting people after your ass! But don't call crying to me if you get a big name guild after you!" she shouted as she stomped back off to her tavern.

Vivi just gave her a little bit of a wave and scooted her butt off to the office. She got the big ticket item sure, but had also picked up a few trinkets on the way out. She'd racked up a few tabs around town, surely this would be enough to pay all those off before skipping town.

"WHAT DO YOU MEAN IT'S ONLY THAT MUCH?!?!"
"Young lady, do not shut in my establishment." a old woman in something that was a mix of merchant and 'spinster' clothes told her.

The older woman had her hair done up in a bun, white in color, and thick glasses on her wrinkled face. She pointed a bony finger at Vivi and glared at her.

"I told you before, no one was going to be interested in your weird music trinkets; so the buyer's field is low. IF you had found something made of gold or gems, maybe, but this is the best I can offer you young lady."

"AH COME On, some of this stuff is stupid old though, it should be worth something! I mean come on it's old tha..."

"ONE MORE LIP LIKE THAT You tramp and you're out of on your arse with no pay. Now take it it or I start getting my broom." the old coot screamed.

Vivi sighed and just took the money, yelling that she'd find better loot next time and shove it in the old bag's face. To wit, the old lady laughed and said 'oh she'd love to see that day' and booted out the rocker.

Soon Vivi found herself walking up the steps to her little inn room, a small hovel on the edge of town that functioned more for those that couldn't find inns in town. She just wanted to get some sleep and then plan more tomorrow. Only for that to go out the window, when a stern looking girl around her age was waiting infront of her door.

"Well well, special services or..." Vivi started but the woman held out a hand.

"Money. You skipped out this morning before I could charge you. Or would you rather this go on your tab...., and I get a Guild to handle it?" She asked, sly grin on her face.

"REALLY?!?!? But I gotta....," Vivi stopped and thought for a moment before putting on a sly smile and pulling out the bag she kept her money in.

"Here." She counted out a few bills out and handled them over, "I just got paid so I have to do some..., counting to see who to pay first, you or the Tavern gal first. Give me a bit to see what I have left and well...., you could always get a guild to come after me. Not like I can hide or something." She laughed.

The hostess grumbled as she swiped the money and went down stairs. Vivi just made herself at home inside her room. Small and dirty but she never stayed in a town long enough to get really good rooms.

Making sure everything was set up, and her door was locked, she got out her guitar and started strumming a few notes. The magic flowed through her as the money on her bed started to assemble into piles, each note dancing with each string she hit. It was apparent that she wouldn't have enough money to cover everything the town demanded from her. It was time to beat feet again...

Only..., Did she have to?

Well she probably did, as whatever guild was gonna get called in would be there in a manner of days, let alone anyone in town that wanted to take a crack at her.

However it was more, why leave alone? She could probably one of the debtors on the way out.... but there was the old hag that needed a lesson too.

Who does Vivi Go for?
