Lay low and make plans.

Demarcus decided to lay low for a while so as not to upset the hornet’s nest too much. Stark suddenly quitting the Avengers and relinquishing the mantle of Iron Man while putting forth his wife and daughter as his replacements would definitely have raised several eyebrows within S.H.I.E.L.D.

Demarcus had achieved his initial objective of securing a base of operations and acquiring ample funding, both of which were being fulfilled by Stark Enterprises. Thus he was content with his lot for now. However he was already planning his next major moves.

Since he already has his foot inside the Avengers’s door with the subjugation of the Starks, he decided that his current long term goal would be to infiltrate and eventually conquer the entire Avengers team. With that in mind, he had already decided on his next targets. Naturally, he figured he should start with the easier members, which were Black Widow and Hawkeye. Thanks to Stark’s technological assets and A.I., he was able to access S.H.I.E.L.D.’s mainframes and obtain some intel on the Avengers. The information Demarcus uncovered was interesting, to say the least.

Much to Demarcus’s delight, he also discovered that Clint is married to a S.H.I.E.L.D. black-ops agent - Barbara “Bobbi” Morse - who is codenamed Mockingbird:

Black Widow, Natasha Romanov, needs no introduction, but Demarcus was surprised to find out she has recently been working with a new partner, an ex-soviet super-spy like herself, Yelena Belova, codenamed White Widow, who had recently joined S.H.I.E.L.D.

That was a lot of targets, and they were all S.H.I.E.L.D agents. Demarcus knew he needed to be well prepared and only make a move when the opportunity was ripe. A single slip up could send the Avengers team and the entirety S.H.I.E.L.D. breathing down his neck.

Demarcus reasoned that he had to fit into society and not stick out like a sore thumb. Thus he decided that his next immediate steps was to cultivate an innocuous civilian identity, and eventually get himself onboarded to the Avengers or S.H.I.E.L.D.

Tony Stark’s daughter, Morgan Stark, may have only just turned 18, but she had inherited her father’s keen intellect and had been enrolled in Empire State University since she was 16 and was working through her second year of her triple major program of Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, and Physics. Demarcus decided to quit as Virginia’s PA and become a student. So he enrolled himself as a freshman at the age of 20. He quickly established his identity as Morgan’s black college boyfriend who was always welcome at the Stark’s residence. Morgan couldn’t be more pleased with this and quickly introduced Demarcus to everyone she knew as her boyfriend.

And so, Demarcus started his life as a college student. He decided to lay low for a few months before testing the S.H.I.E.L.D. waters again. Meanwhile, he reasoned that the student body of Empire State University should provide him with a large enough pool of playthings to keep him from growing too bored.
