Chapter 14

What's next?

Lauren tries to sneak away

"Race you to the jungle gym, Lily!" Janet called out as she let go of Lauren's hand, running towards the playground equipment in question as Amanda sat down on a bench to watch them.

Lauren scoffed at the idea of that. She was twenty-three-years-old, she didn't need to be watched by a kid who was fifteen years her junior! Still, she noticed that Rachel must have trusted her oldest a lot as she went to the petting zoo with her youngest. She then realized, with Rachel distracted, she could probably sneak away and end this nightmare!

Lauren smiled as she stood in place, trying to think of how to do so.

"Don't you want to play, Lily?" A voice said, snapping Lauren out of her thoughts. The diapered woman looked over to see Janet looking at her quizzically. Surprisingly, Amanda was standing next to her, the same quizzical expression on her face.

Lauren bit her lip as she tried to think of what to say. Suddenly, an idea popped into her head. It was a long shot, but if it meant being able to get away...

"Um," Lauren began, trying to sound as innocent as possible as she drew a circle in the playground sand with her bare foot, "can we play hide-and-seek? It's my favorite game."

"Sure we can!" Janet said. She then turned to Amanda and asked, "Can you count while we hide, Amanda?"

Amanda sighed, but otherwise nodded her head. She closed her eyes and began to count, Janet stifling a giggle as she ran towards a nearby tree.

Lauren smiled. This was her chance! Turning on her heel, Lauren made a B-line for the nearby gift shop, opening the door as she slipped inside. Lauren looked around, but didn't see any other customers or staff. She smiled at her luck, but she knew that it would change at any second. She had to act fast!

Lauren looked around again before seeing a rack filled with souvenir T-shirts. Racing over to them, Lauren looked through them for an Extra Large size. She knew she wouldn't be able to find any pants here, but she could easily cover her diaper if she found the right shirt.

Lauren stopped as she finally found a T-shirt in the size she was looking for. It was green with pictures of butterflies on it, but right now, she didn't care. Things were finally starting to look up!

Lauren had just pulled the shirt off the hanger when she felt a hand rest on her shoulder, causing the little woman to freeze up as her blood ran cold. She gulped nervously before looking over her shoulder to see...

Who was it?
