Laundry

While you're on a roll of things you need to get done but hate doing, you decide that it would probably be best if you just got your laundry done so you won't have to worry about it.

You walk down to the basement, quickly saying hello to Buster, Kissy's dog that you are watching while she is out of town. Some accountants meeting in New Orleans. Must be nice...

You throw your clothes in the washer, add the soap, a touch of off-brand oxygen based cleaner, compare the ingredients to Oxy-Clean as it suggests, see it's identical, then start the washer...

As you sit and wait your mom sends you a text message:

"How's your morning? Dad and I are at the fabric store getting some stuff for grandma. Need anything? Do your homework? Laundry??"

You sigh...

Typical Kate, asking a million questions in one message. Sometimes it's near impossible to communicate with her.

"Good, Ok, No, Yes, Working on it." you send back.

"Look at you go! We'll be home around 2, and your father and I want to talk to you about your birthday... :)" she replies...

Oh yeah, your birthday! You keep forgetting it's coming that soon. What would they want to talk to you about? It's just a birthday. You know you won't be a teenager anymore, but how different could it be? Maybe they just want to know what you wanna do that day. Or what you want? You haven't even thought about what you want yet...

The buzzer on the washer wakes you from your day dreams of birthday presents.

You transfer the stuff to the dryer, fold your mom's pants and put them on her basket, and check the clock. It's 1:10...
