Later that day(hero)

Lara and I have our next class together. Paige has class with Tyler and Maude. He will know for sure that Paige was freed. But we couldn't really keep that secret for long. We just told Paige to be careful, she seemed more than confident.

In our next class, we both studied our classmates for worms. We figured the girls with short hair that don't cover their ears would be safe, as there wouldn't be an easy way to hide the worms.

We found just one girl in our next class who we thought was infected. Lara got close to her and confirmed it. It was Bekah. She's a very short brunette. She may be 5 foot on a good day. She's generally very outspoken to the point of being an annoyance, but today she just has a smirk on her face.

Near the end of class I see her check her phone. I am at an angle to see that it's Tyler, but can't read it. Bekah turns to be and gives a wave. If I didn't know something was up, it would almost seem flirty.

Finally class is dismissed. Bekah walks up to Lara and I. "So my master has some questions."

Lara is still wrapping her head around this. "Your master?"

Bekah dismisses her. "Not from you, from him." She looks at me. "He thought you had a deal. He gave you some worms, and neither of you get in each other's way."

Lara looks at me. I didn't tell her I was thinking about enslaving her. "No deal. I want my friends freedom."

Bekah types something on her phone and gets an immediate response. "Ok. Have a nice day with Paige." Then she looks at Lara. "My master will see you soon." As Bekah gives Lara a wink and walks away.

We are both concerned about Paige. So we immediately try to FaceTime her. She picks up. She's standing with Tyler and Maude on both sides of her, they are smiling. We don't get a chance to speak, she simply says "I must obey my master." and hangs up.
