Last chance?

“No, no! I wouldn’t do that if I were you!” The merchant called up just before the slowly shrinking hand came down on her. The giantess stopped just short out of curiosity. Her palm hovered over the merchant like a threat, but came no lower. The merchant was unafraid, though her donkey had run sideways, squealing. “You’ll kill your only chance,” the human woman said, almost mirthfully.

“What are you talking about?” the giantess growled as her body let out another gurgle and she felt herself drop closer to the ground by inches. Her fingers also seemed to flex and shrink. She was running out of time to deliver her punishment.

“You’re only going to get smaller and smaller. However, I could fix this. I know the antidote to what you took. If you kill me, you will never go back to being huge and you certainly will never be bigger than that!” The merchant had her hand on her hip and did not seem concerned at all about the massive hand threatening her very life. She was confident the giantess needed her alive.

Alarmed, the giantess pulled her hand back to once more grope her trembling stomach. “Then fix it now and I may choose to spare your life!”

The merchant laughed again, bubbly and pleased. “Do you think I believe that?”

The giantess was taken aback. It seemed the human wasn’t the fool she’d believed her to be. “So, what do you want?”
